Celine Dion is pregnant with an embryo that was frozen for eight years, her fertility doctor revealed.
The singer has revealed she is expecting her second child with husband Rene Angelil - a little brother or sister for the couple's eight-year-old son Rene-Charles.
And fertility specialist Dr. Zev Rosenwaks has revealed he implanted an embryo in the 41 year old's womb that had been frozen in liquid nitrogen since the in vitro fertilization that helped her conceive Rene-Charles.

I searched but didn't see this posted.
Interesting (and sort of bizarre) that this is possible.

"Interesting (and sort of bizarre) that this is possible. " Happens all the time - hence the term "snowflake" babies. Although, I don't know if 8 years is a significant period of time, or not unusual in any way.

I thought snowflake babies were frozen embryos that were not to be used by the bio parents so other women would have them implanted rather than discarded. This embryo is biologically from Celine and her hubby. In fact, I remember when she was pregnant with her first many years ago she mentioned that there was another embryo and I always wondered if it would just remain frozen forever. Oh well, in any case it’s interesting that after eight years it has been implanted.

"I thought snowflake babies were frozen embryos that were not to be used by the bio parents so other women would have them implanted rather than discarded." Yes, you are right - I was just speaking to the technology of the "frozen embryo". I do think that married couples use the process for a variety of reasons as well. It is an interesting story.

Right, especially since she (from this article anyway) has a "womb that had been frozen in liquid nitrogen."
Sheesh. Can't anyone write coherently any more?

IIRC, the Korean people would consider this child eight years and nine months old at birth.
