By Scott Malone 20 mins ago BOSTON (Reuters) U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy, a towering figure in the Democratic Party who took the helm of one of America's most fabled political families after two older brothers were assassinated, has died, his family said. He was 77. "Edward M. Kennedy, the husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle we loved so deeply, died late Tuesday night at home in Hyannis Port (Massachusetts)," the Kennedy family said in a statement. One of the most influential and longest-serving senators in U.S. history -- a liberal standard-bearer who was also known as a consummate congressional dealmaker -- Kennedy had been battling brain cancer, which was diagnosed in May 2008. "We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever," the family statement said. "He loved this country and devoted his life to serving it. He always believed that our best days were still ahead, but it's hard to imagine any of them without him," the family added.

Now he can cancel the planned invasion of Fiji as a diversion.
Save the whales!...Well, most of them anyway.
The man who was, perhaps more than any other person in teh United States, responsible for the selling-out of Southeast Asia and the subsequent murders of millions of innocent people and the imprisonment of millions more, is at long last dead.
I p*ss on his grave.
I’ll be having a Kegger at the house this weekend in celebration. Hopefully the 24/7 coverage will be over by then.
I wonder what ole Ted thought when he had to answer to God for all the corrupt evil he has done? Prayerfully, he did repent before he died.
His death will not boost socialized health care. He did not
evoke sympathy with the public. The Kennedy’s are passe’.
Teddy was the last living relic of the Kennedy myth.
What are the odds that Zero uses Kennedy’s death as a prop?
Did anyone notice that Bush gave a statement early this morning but Zer0 is absent? Yep, he’s ready for that 3:00AM crisis. The TOTUS is sleeping.
I think three or more times. I just posted an article on the ‘liberal lion’s’ death after doing a headline check.
Where the 'liberal lion' is going, he'll have to chance to meet Mary Jo and I sincerely doubt he'll be RIP.
Swimmer Bump.
There is no forgiveness for waht he did to Mary Jo, but let him stand jusgement for that one.
But, so far as politics, I personally blame the freekin idiots who kept voting him back into his seat, not the man himself.
Mind you, I have nothing good whatsoever to say about Ted Kennedy, but I think it shines bad light on us all to celebrate any mans death.
K, got my suit on; let the flaming begin...
I didn't realize lack of coffee affected my brain so badly.
Mary Jo won’t see himm where he’s going . . .
But the name of the wicked will rot." (Proverbs 10:7)

But the name of the wicked will rot.” (Proverbs 10:7)<<
Or as the Bard put it:
“The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones;”
Eloquently said sir, eloquently said!
