Health Care: "First, do no harm" is never the maxim of Washington politicians. With a public uprising killing ObamaCare, Sen. John McCain wants "to sit down with the president" and resuscitate it.
There seems to be a disconnect in McCain's head, however, between getting good reforms and what he knows the Democrats will do as the majority. McCain described himself as "very worried" about and "unalterably opposed" to using budget reconciliation rules to ram through reform. Such a ploy would take away Republican senators' right to filibuster.
McCain said he watched "every single meaningful" Republican amendment turned down by the Democrats in committee mark-up. He recited the Mayo Clinic's remarks opposing ObamaCare, making it obvious that the administration was misleading Americans into thinking that esteemed institution had endorsed liberal Democrats' radical approach.

Just shoot me!
If this is true, I want Juan McCain to sit down and STFU!!!
McCain is a statist; why would this be a surprise to anyone?
Maybe he will suspend his Senate reelection campaign, rush to Washington, negotiate for the bill....and lose the election.
[Here’s hoping. And here’s hoping enough Blue Dogs prefer reelection to voting for this monstrosity bill.]
And it looks like again , he will sell out his countrymen, just like he did on the Bail Out.
Somoeone needs to cage him like the idiot he is.
Hey McPain STFU and sit down !
What I don’t understand about a guy like McCain, he risks his life fighting communists, is jailed and tortured by them for years, and now he kowtows to commies and appeases them. What a total buffoon.
I saw his town hall meeting today, if ANYONE has any questions as to why McCain lost the election(Besides the media and economy tanking) watch his town hall meeting. I watched it live on Fox News, and I wanted to jump through the TV, shake him and tell him to wake the hell up. He was kissing Obama’s ass so much I thought I was watching an Arlen Spector town hall meeting. Oh yeah, best part of the town hall was McCain talking about hanging out with Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins, priceless, three RINOS hanging out, how cute!
McCain = reform = American people get screwed.
Any time McCain is associated with ‘reform’, watch out and bend over.
Would the McIdiots who supported McWho please explain to us why this is A Good Thing and why they as well as he should not be committed to an asylum for the insane and their vote taken away? (Hint: “I was fooled” is a sufficient defense, but you need to explain, and you get to use it only once.)
Someone better whisper in this senile RINO’s ear.
Dear John,
You F****D us over on the TARP, lost the election, became the darling of CNN.....now STFU and sit down.
The ONLY redeaming thing is that you gave us Sarah.
None of these ideas are bad and in fact we have been suggesting just such things here. However, McCain is painfully naive if he really thinks that Obama and the Dems are going to sit down and talk about these things; they'll take any opening as a sign of weakness and will try to get their monstrosity through.
Wait until next year; if we haven't been completely destroyed by Zero and there actually are elections in 2010, there will be a such a huge change that Obama's Caskets for Clunkers (thanks, Rush!) program won't have a chance.
He’s the only guy I loathe almost (but not quite) as much as the Kennedyidiot.
It's well known that one's mental capacity CAN be impaired by such treatment. "Brain-washing" is what killed George Romney's candidacy.
Turn him out to pasture, treat him well. He served us well, but is no longer capable. Respect and honor his service, and let that live unclouded.
He’s the only guy I loathe almost (but not quite) as much as the Kennedyidiot.
