CHILMARK, Mass. – President Barack Obama and his family began a weeklong vacation on this Massachusetts island with a message to the reporters who have crowded the New England villages: Chill out and don't expect much.
Pleading for privacy, the White House said Obama would have no public events while vacationing on Martha's Vineyard with his family and close friends. Aides also asked that the journalists not take pictures of the Obamas' two young daughters, age 8 and 11, when they aren't with the president.
I should have clarified in my original post that it was other kids, not the teachers, who claimed my daughter was being brainwashed.

My daughter is in the Talented and Gifted program in our school district, and all of the kids, parents, and teachers I met because of her attending Governor’s School this summer (2 districts participated because it is a regional thing) are as, and in some cases more, conservative than I am.
Governor’s school is summer school for the smart kids and the Governor of Virginia is the chair of the DNC.
Conservative parents tend to have smart kids, regardless of where they attend school.
When I had spoken with her teacher about the possibility of taking her out of school for a day to go to a McCain/Palin rally in Virginia Beach, the teacher's attitude was "don't think about it, just do it." We did!!!
Well, many teachers are very liberal. I know many of the teachers in our ISD are conservative, but the entire community is the same. Now in Austin, forget trying to find a single decent teacher who is not a hardcore liberal. Same thing at UT Austin - liberals by the hundreds.

He is going to reappoint Ben Bernanke this a.m. The reporters should ignore everything he says about privacy and vacations.
