He says She says They say but whats the real deal?
Lie #1: President Obama says he wants death panels to euthanize your grandma!!!
The truth: "Death panels" are certainly not mentioned in H.R.3200, the Health Care Reform bill. But Presidential health care adviser Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and chairman of the Department of Bioethics at the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health, has defended rationing care more strictly for older people because "allocation [of medical care] by age is not invidious discrimination."
Lie #2: Theyre going to outlaw private insurance and force you into a government plan!!!
The truth: H.R. 3200 does not ban private insurance immediately. But Page 16 does contain a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly shows how the public option will kill the market for private individual coverage by not letting any new policies be written after the public option becomes law.
"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.
So we can all keep our coverage, yada yada, except: Those who now have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. And those who leave a company to work for themselves cant choose to buy a plan from a private carrier.
And employers themselves could opt to dump their employee into the public option. The nonpartisan Lewin Group estimated that 120 million or more Americans could lose their insurance at work and end up in the public program because their employer decided to discontinue their group coverage, finding it cheaper to pay a small payroll penalty than to pay for premiums. This says the Lewin Group---could cause private insurance to fizzle out altogether.
Lie #3: President Obama wants to implement Soviet-style rationing!!!
The truth: The words Soviet-style and rationing are not mentioned in the bill. You see, Ezekiel J. Emanuel, a key presidential health care adviser, told Washington Times news reported Jon Ward on August 13 that his "thinking has evolved" on the subject of health care rationing:
"When I began working in the health policy area about 20 years ago ... I thought we would definitely have to ration care, that there was a need to make a decision and deny people care." And: "I think that over the last five to seven years ... I've come to the conclusion that in our system we are spending way more money than we need to, a lot of it on unnecessary care. If we got rid of that care we would have absolutely no reason to even consider rationing except in a few cases."
But why do people get care considered unnecessary by Dr. Emanuel? Because they disagree with Dr. Emanuel: they think it is necessary. But Dr. Emanuel says that if we can get rid of that care then we wont have to ration! Whew. Good to know. And who gets to decide what is, and what isnt, necessary? Why, our very trusted friends, the lawyers. The judges. And our key presidential health care advisors --- top bio-ethicists, no less --- like Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel.
Lie #4: Obama is secretly plotting to fund his Reform by grabbing billions from Medicare!!!
The truth: The secretly plotting concept is a lie! --- because theres really nothing very secret about it. Under the House health reform bill which has already passed through the three health-related committees House Democrats are proposing cuts to projected Medicare spending that would top $500 billion. They propose using this to subsidize health coverage for millions of people who could afford their own insurance: people making up to $88,000 for a family of four.
Proponents say that this would not involve cutting seniors benefits, but cutting billions of dollars in overpayments to insurance companies and eliminating rampant waste, fraud, and abuse. Interesting. President Obama has repeatedly pointed to Medicare as a model proving that the government can successfully manage millions of peoples healthcare.
The basic facts are simple and dramatic:
And I wanted to say, well, I mean, thats what Medicare is, is its a government-run health care plan that people are very happy with. --President Barack Obama, to the AARP, July 28, 2009
Lie #5: Obama's health care plan will cost $2 trillion more, and bankrupt America!!!
The truth: Thats what one source says (The National Review, May 13, 2009) Another source says, President Obama's reform plans would be fully paid for over 10 years and not add a penny to the deficit. (whitehouse.gov/realitycheck).
Neither of these can strictly be called facts. They both involve predictions for the future, about which, by definition, we dont have any facts --- yet. So the question has to be answered on the basis of how things have worked out in the past.
1. Do government programs generally result in vast savings, or vast cost overruns?
2. Which is more likely to be responsive to your individual preferences: a private business which is trying to attract you and retain you as a paying customer, or a government agency?
3. If you are not satisfied with services, which could you more successfully challenge, sue, boycott, or fire: a private business or a government agency?
4. Who you gonna trust?

The text of this hand-out was based on a pro-ObamaCare MoveOn leaflet (pro-ObamaCare link here), and laid out to look a whole lot like it. The main idea is to try to get past the other side's initial defenses, and pull them into reading at least the first few lines before they start muttering, "Uh... what the heck..."
"Dialogue" has turned into a dirty word as well as a lost art. But I still believe in the "Come, let us reason together" approach, and I'm giving it a try here.
Will some of them will take a glance, and then read it and catch on? What do you think?

And the truth about Health Care is that honest, God-fearing, liberty loving Americans cannot read these quote by the Chief Health Care advisor to the President and the Health Care Policy Advisor to the Democratic Congress without recoiling in horror.
"Ultimately, the complete lives system does not create 'classes of Untermenschen whose lives and well being are deemed not worth spending money on,' but rather empowers us to decide fairly whom to save..."
"When implemented, the complete lives system produces a priority curve on which individuals aged between roughly 15 and 40 years get the most substantial chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get chances that are attenuated"
"Services that promote the continuation of the polity-those that ensure healthy future generations, ensure development of practical reasoning skills, and ensure full and active participation by citizens in public deliberations-are to be socially guaranteed as basic. Conversely, services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic and should not be guaranteed."
The slumbering giant is stirring...and he's waking up hopping mad.
Mr. Dono, you keep spreading the word...the more people who discover the facts about the Health Care monstrosity, the lower Obama's numbers will go...and the more who will really start taking a harder look at his other initiatives (stimulus, bail-outs, take overs, Cap & Trade, FOCA, etc.) all of which are equally destructive to America.

I like it. Something like this might be a good idea for anyone planning to attend Sue Myrick’s meetings. She’s an excellent rep, but there are bound to be some of the Other Side there.
#6 Death Panels for Veterans
Last year, bureaucrats at the VAs National Center for Ethics in Health Care advocated a 52-page end-of-life planning document, Your Life, Your Choices. It was first published in 1997 and later promoted as the VAs preferred living will throughout its vast network of hospitals and nursing homes. After the Bush White House took a look at how this document was treating complex health and moral issues, the VA suspended its use. Unfortunately, under President Obama, the VA has now resuscitated Your Life, Your Choices.
Who is the primary author of this workbook? Dr. Robert Pearlman, chief of ethics evaluation for the center, a man who in 1996 advocated for physician-assisted suicide in Vacco v. Quill before the U.S. Supreme Court and is known for his support of health-care rationing.

Excellent info -— oh gosh, I had to leave out such a huge quantity of good stuff just to fit this onto a two-sided 8 1/2 x 11!
Not to lie #1:
It’s not in HR 3200, but it is in the last stimulus package, passed by the Congresscritters , who failed to read the bill... and I’m supposed to trust this group of collective idiots?

Excellent! and Good Luck at the meeting.
I hope you get some people to think. There is usually a lot of standing in line time before these meetings.
“If we got rid of that care we would have absolutely no reason to even consider rationing except in a few cases”
Somebody please inform him that getting rid of care is rationing.
Have you verified this? ... I was told he was holding the Johnson City event at the Science Hill Center on Pactolas (?) Street. Must call Bountville office in the AM to get this clearled up.
Bravo!
I'll call the Blountville office, but as of now I'm assuming that Roe's right, and that MoveOn had outdated information. The silly left-a-roos... maybe they'll all show up at the wrong place :o)

You might consider bringing up the Independent Medical Advisory Committee (IMAC) which will control the manner in which different medical procedure are handled and how they will be reimbursed.
This panel is accountable to nobody.
If anybody has any additional info on IMAC please share
