Daily Presidential Tracking Poll -- 0bama now at -14!
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 23 August 2009 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 08/23/2009 6:35:52 AM PDT by ScottinVA

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14. These figures mark the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President. The previous low of -12 was reached on July 30 (see trends).

Prior to today, the number who Strongly Approved of the President’s performance had never fallen below 29%. Some of the decline has come from within the President’s own party. Just 49% of Democrats offer such a positive assessment of the President at this time.

At the other end of the spectrum, today’s total for Strongly Disapprove matches the highest level yet recorded. The 41% mark was reached just once before and that came one week ago today. Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans now Strongly Disapprove along with 49% of those not affiliated with either major party.

Check out our review of last week’s key polls to see “What They Told Us.” Topics include health care, the deficit, stimulus package, state polls and more.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 48% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) now disapprove.

I’m sure BHO’s Ramadan pilgrimage to Martha’s Vineyard will go over well with the unemployed Americans who won’t be taking any type of a vacation this year.

Interesting He still has a 21 percent cushion between overall "approve" and "strongly approve" compared to a 10 percent cushion between overall "disapprove" and "strongly disapprove."

I'm not sure how to interpret that.

What I noticed in the last few days is people just laugh at what he says. They don’t seem to have any opinion of him - he’s become nothing more than an entertainer. That was the risk of turning him into a celebrity, I suppose.

And when your celebrity depends primarily on the skill with which you can flop your head back and forth whilst reading someone else's words you go stale pretty fast. Noone likes stale celebrities.

The drop mostly came from his own party, which possibly is a result of him flip-flop on the ‘public option’ issue. In other words, these people strongly disapproved 0bama because in their view he was not leftist enough.

I think you are right. The drop in "Strongly Approve" column has been very fast and, IMHO, will not hold. The Radical Lefties will never abandon Obama. I expect the number will return to the 30% plus/minus 1% within a few day. But of course I hope I'm wrong.

dailykos

What is very amusing is the 'reality challenged' Democrats/Socialists/Marxists at Dailykos are in deep denial about Obama's poll numbers.

Check out their 'professional' poll on the president's popularity, I guess they were surveying 100% Acorn members.

From -6 to -14 in one week. 8 point fall...WOW!! Devastating results this week.

That 48% approval has to be going down to a record low when Rasmussen publishes the next full Obama performance poll early next week.

One of the other things that America is not liking about 0bama (and there as so many to pick from) is what he demonstrated last Friday just before he went on his vacation and that is his profound aversion to acceptance of Accountability. The part about how he misjudged the deficit and its really going to be 10 Trillion?!

The public statement he made to Libya also exposes his glib concern - 180 dead Americans and all he says is “highly Objectionable”?

HIS policies have FAILED the economy and even Biden admitted that, HIS Healthcare drama has been an accountability free “hey I didn't draft this plan congress did”” excursion in the bizarre.

Now he's totally destroying the fiscal viability of America and he simply drops the bad news and saunter off to Lib Disneyland? What's a few trillion matter when I'm late for my fun time vacation.

He has absolutely confirmed the charges hat came from his past statements like - “that's above my pay grade” and “Present”.

To sum it up - we have an Accountability Free Commander in Chief and that is one thing that Americans MOST DEFINITELY do NOT care for and I think that is beginning to add to his eroding poll number. Again, not that his sad numbers need any help smelling any worse.

Dear Mr. ‘President’:

...Simply instruct your staff to order the release of the following:

* The original, long-form birth certificate, not the short-form certification of live birth, which is obviously subject to claims of fraud;
* All your school records dating back to kindergarten;
* Your Occidental College records and transcripts;
* Your Columbia University records and transcripts including your thesis papers;
* Your Harvard Law School records;
* Your Harvard Law Review writings;
* Your scholarly records from the University of Chicago;
* Your passport history;
* Your medical records;
* The files from your years as an Illinois state legislator;
* Your Illinois State Bar records;
* Your baptism records, if available;
* Your adoption records.

Mr. President, we all know the truth is going to come out eventually. It’s always only a matter of time.

I think some of this drop could be attributed to the fact that out of work Americans, who thought Obama was going to save them, are now seeing that not only will he not save them, but he is telling them that they are just getting “wee-wee’d up” while he goes on his 15th vacation since taking office.

His team is on the phones now, telling ABCNBCCBS to give him time for a presser.

Very good. That will be another 2-percentage point drop in the polls, at least.

Just wait....

September is coming.

How many people (liberals dems etc) are still in a summber-time vacation mindset, and are more worried about if they have enough plastic cups and noodle salad for the get together on the lake, and could give a rat's behind about politics.

What happens when they wake up?

Good! The more they are in denial, and less corrective action they will take, which mean we will absolutely beat the CRAP out of them in 2010 (next year).

I'm not sure how to interpret that.

Of course i am biased against the Usurper, but those numbers are actually good for us. Close to half of those who say they approve are in the lukewarm category (not strongly) and may be more easily disposed to moving into the disapprove column. The large numbers of strongly disapprove are more entrenched in their position (and it would seem that the 2% decrease in strongly approve probably came from the far lefties, who are unhappy with him this week.)

No problemo - just an early morning tease. The new low is far more important information...and certainly encouraging to us Americans.
