Congressman Martin Heinrich hosted a large town hall meeting on health care reform Saturday afternoon, and while there was plenty of yelling on both sides, things stayed relatively civil.
Around 700 to 800 people gathered at the UNM Continuing Education center Saturday to discuss health care reform.

I listen to KKOB a lot so I’m familiar with this character. I can’t believe this guy was elected. Obama must have had long earlobes in New Mexico.
I felt he ran a low key campaign and Darren White got little support. Heinrich had a ton of ads compared to White. Same thing with Udall and Pearce. Udall had ads just about everywhere, while Pearce had to ration his money. I don’t care what pundits say, the election of 08 was bought.
“If we get the public option as its currently crafted in HR 3200 I would be happy to sign on to the public option.”
Couple of thoughts. This guy is crazy if he thinks HR 3200 is a good thing. 2nd he knows darn good and well he will not have to participate in the plan.
I can’t stand the Udalls. One of them, straight out of college, ran for this district’s House of Representatives job a few years back. She’s some kind of lawyer in Cochise county now, I think.
There’s a comment in the Kob section where the person says that Heinrich will have to take the public option, as he will be out of office.
Pearce could’ve spent more, but he realized he was going to lose and opted not to just throw it away. He’ll probably go more full-throttle to take his old House seat back next year.
I hope so! Every time I have heard Teague talk I can swear he’s had too many in the morning. Plus he voted for cap and tax.

The trouble with Harry is that he thinks he’s as Conservative as Mud Runnels. Runnels was to the right of Manuel Lujan. Harry’s no Runnels, he’s just mud.
As most of the others stated, I arrived at about 1:45 for a 3pm event and the lines were filled with people, signs, and professional posters from "Health Care for America Now"
