The House bill actually raises more questions than it resolves with respect to whether the bill will burden American taxpayers by giving health care benefits to legal and illegal aliens. Under Welfare Reform, legal aliens are required to wait five years before becoming eligible for welfare or other taxpayer funded benefits. The House bill eliminates that 5-year waiting period. Accordingly, legal aliens will become immediately eligible for this government handout paid for by American taxpayers. Illegal aliens are also likely to qualify for this affordability credit. This is because there are NO provisions that would prevent illegals from participating in the exchange or from receiving the credit. Likewise, there are NO requirements that a government agency verify eligibility. Accordingly, without these important safeguards, illegal aliens would probably receive this subsidy.

The fact that La Raza and other latino groups lobbied for the passage of this bill with the wording exactly as it is, it’s because that is exactly what it will do.

Right - and I think Prop. 187 was a classic case of left-wing judicial activism overturning the democratic voice of the people. It was just another case of a few leftist lawyers saying, in effect, that the Constitution and federal law mean only what we arbitrarily decide they mean.

Good post with a good point. I think Dick Morris makes a very undeniable point based on common sense and the facts: if we add 40 million uninsured to Obamacare, there will be NO proportional increase in doctors, nurses, hospitals or other health professionals. Result? RATIONING. The State will now determine who gets care and who will be put aside. But the care will involve long waits and interminable delays, often resulting in personal pain, incapacity, complications and even death.
The bill doesn’t address “illegals”. It says something about “residents” receiving care though. Non-residents are the ones who don’t have to pay taxes on care.
We are so screwed if this passes.
You can bet the ‘RATS know that SCOTUS will deem it “unconstitutional” to deny ObamaCare to Mexican Nationals who show up at our hospitals.
I know what you mean. As a white male you’re part of America’s biggest minority group without the benefit of being part of an ethnocentric, racial, or gender-based lobby group. If you were a black, Native American, female, etc., you could be part of a faction demanding special preferences and affirmative action. The terrible truth is that you pay for all that and get none of the benefits but all the blame and abuse. America is becoming Balkanized and factionalized and disunited. In fact, a famous liberal lamented this reality in a recently published book entitled “The Disuniting of America.”

I agree. We have what I believe to be truly insane people running this country. But, there are lots of Americans that are sane.
