It is a chilling question and one that has been troubling me for about two weeks. I read the low grade civil war phrase as a declarative statement from a commenter on a news story about the Congressional Town Hall meetings and it has been rattling in my brain ever since.
Ive been wanting to post about this question and today seemed like the right time since now Im not the only one worried about this question. In todays Washington Times, actor/activist Jon Voight makes this statement:
Theres a real question at stake now. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country? Mr. Voight tells Inside the Beltway.
We are witnessing a slow, steady takeover of our true freedoms. We are becoming a socialist nation, and whoever cant see this is probably hoping it isnt true. If we permit Mr. Obama to take over all our industries, if we permit him to raise our taxes to support unconstitutional causes, then we will be in default. This great America will become a paralyzed nation.
Do not let the Obama administration fool you with all their cunning Alinsky methods. And if you dont know what that method is, I implore you to get the book Rules for Radicals, by Saul Alinsky . Mr. Obama is very well trained in these methods.

Weedership? Do you mean the guy in the Whine House, or the Public Serpents in general?
this is a case of the government turning on we the people.
Here’s a perfect example of what this book is about.
Hispanic Group Attacks Obamacare Protesters
Isn’t that Thomas Chittum’s website? IIRC I read that CWII back in the late 90’s.
It is his book. I didn’t realize he had a website.
Bump that.
The answer is “NO”.
Someone doesn’t understand the term “civil war”.
We’re not even in a “cold civil war” because there isn’t a real “civil war” being restrained.
In the Cold War, we were always just 1 hour from full-on WWIII going “hot”, held back only because the heat would singe both sides horribly. It ended only because one side couldn’t keep up with the escalation of threats.
Nobody here has gone “hot”. Nobody is threatening to. It’s a future possibility if things keep going this way, but we’re sure not there yet.
Gettin’ tired of all this hyperbolic rhetoric.
What did you think of the book?
I don’t know if he still does but I definitely remember back during the Clinton years he had one.
We are not in a low grade Civil War. So, readers, just relax, keep buying guns, ammo and provision while the opposition keeps looking to Obama for handouts.
When the real war starts, it won’t be hard to subdue the lazy opportunists who voted this chump in. At the same time,we might clean up the street raf that victimize people by preying on the peaceful.
Loved it! Meaning, of course, that I was pretty much in aggreement with what he was saying. I’m gonna go back later on tonight and refresh my memory on the CWII link you provided.
No it hasn't. The sheeple are bleating, but that's all you'll hear.
I know what the book is about...I just don’t think it’s particularly well written or well thought out.
>>The South will Rise Again.
Look away Dixieland.<<
And when she does, their will be H&!! to pay for 144 years of Yankee occupation.
Deo vindice
“If we permit Mr. Obama to take over all our industries...”
.
Always remember that he cannot do it unless he has the support of numerous congresscritters.
“Public Serpents”, LOL, good one, and right on-target.
But the troops can be "federalized" overnight and control taken away from the states. That's why you see State Troopers guarding those little black girls during the Arkansas desegregation. The governor called up the Guard, Eisenhower federalized them, leaving the state the next line of defense - State Troopers.
Oh well. Post #50 like it as well.
>>America is not socialistic and never will be.<<
.
Don’t be so sure of that. Too many people have been promised to get something for nothing and it is human nature to like getting things for free. 95% of blacks and 53% of American Catholic voters have voted for a socialist agenda.
Also remember that an overwhelming number of immigrants in the last 30 years have come from socialist countries. This country is rife with citizens who want something for nothing.
Perhaps more accurate would be to characterize it as the spread of apathy among the population, tending toward disdain for the antics of our government.... a rather different dynamic.
I would hope they stay put of it.
