Cancer-stricken Sen. Kennedy asks state leaders for speedy process to replace him in Congress

BOSTON (AP) — A cancer-stricken Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has written a poignant letter to Massachusetts leaders asking that they change state law to allow a speedy replacement of him in Congress.

The note to Gov. Deval Patrick and the state's Senate president and House speaker acknowledges the state changed its succession law in 2004 to require a special election to fill any vacancy. At the time, legislative Democrats were concerned Republican Gov. Mitt Romney would be able to fill any vacancy created as Sen. John Kerry ran for president.

Oh no, don’t wish him into Hell so quickly. Let him linger on, unable to speak or move, fully aware of everything around him. But tell him every day that he is scheduled for abortion in the morning ... and then just put up his IV each morning and change his diapers and urine bag.

you think he’d be a little more thoughtful about the next world instead of the politics as usual stuff.

The sooner he leaves the less opportunity the MA RATs will have to once again twist the process to suit their partisan purposes.

Time to check out, Teddy. Don't forget your water wings.....

The majority of voters are lifetime leftists, so the majority of voters are really clueless about actually changing politics as they know it. Having the majority of voters actually voting for anybody that has an “R” next to their name as well as actually voting in the majority for any conservative politician is a very difficult goal to achieve. comes the closest to having an actual conservative winning a major political office in , and Mitt is a RINO. In Massachusetts, a lot will have to happen for, both, Republicans and conservatives to actually prevail politically in the future, if they ever do actually prevail politically in the future in Massachusetts.

My response isn’t working, and some words are omitted. ARG! The majority of “ voters” are lifetime leftists. “Mitt Romney” comes the closest to being an actual conservative in Massachusetts, and he’s a RINO.

Trying again! The majority of “Kennedy state voters” are lifetime leftists.

Umm... I just woke up but, Ted isnt in Congress. He is in the Senate

Its been awhile since high school, but I think the Congress included both the Senate (Senators) and the House of Representatives (Congresscritters).

He wants his wife to replace him. If he wants to speed up the process, he could resign now.

Romney doesn’t own property here anymore. As far as I know he has the summer home in New Hampshire, and he recently bought a house in La Jolla, Ca. I don’t know which state he’s declaring his legal residence.

The good news is that they cannot name anyone more stupidly marxist than Kennedy to the job so it won’t change anything.

BOSTON (AP) — For nearly half a century, Sen. Edward Kennedy has guarded his family's political legacy. Stricken with cancer and as Congress takes up his signature issue, he is tending to his own.

Kennedy asked Massachusetts lawmakers to change state law to give Gov. Deval Patrick, a fellow Democrat and supporter of President Barack Obama, the ability to appoint an interim replacement to Kennedy's seat should Kennedy be unable to continue serving.

Under state law, an election is required within 145-160 days after a Senate seat becomes vacant. That would temporarily leave Massachusetts without a voice in the Senate — and Senate Democrats potentially one vote short on any health care overhaul legislation.

That is Kennedys own provision to stop Romney from appointing before election and Kerry's ass getting removed.

I'm sure it's been covered, but I have not had time to read the thread. This should be so obvious to the voters there.
