We ought to be threatening bloody revolution to prevent this nightmare scenario.
I believe it’s just that serious.
You can put whatever salve on it you wish. It won’t be reversed and it won’t improve health care.
What it will do is send this country into a tailspin which will ultimately cost many lives—count on it.
If they pass it this country is finished.
It is inevitable.
This is universal law that we’re playing with. You cannot enslave one human to another and hope for something good to come of it. Millions and millions of humans have suffered and died because of this lie. We are doing nothing different than what’s been tried before—it is real-time mass suicide.
It is precisely what the founders warned of and worked so tirelessly against. It is exactly the thing they so bravely fought to free themselves from. It is all that they tried to prevent with the ingenious design of our system of government, self-government.
They are setting about to destroy the very thing that made this country great. Maybe someone can tell me how that will turn out any other way but really, really bad for this country and even the world.
If we’re lucky it will take 15-20 years to do its damage.
It will go down as one of the biggest human failures.
We’re about to murder liberty in the United States of America.
Sure, you can call me extreme if it helps you cope, but this is total war on freedom—a monumental human disaster in the making.
I can hardly believe it has come to this and I’ve studied political philosophy and the left for decades. They have a siren song with powers over humans that I don’t yet understand. It has happened so fast. Yet again, humans default to enslavement of, by and ‘for’ each other.
I also know that many of you don’t want to believe it is as grave as I put forth here. But ask yourself how this time is any different than any time in history. Just how sugjagating one man to another will achieve anything positive.
They are going to make slaves of you. It won’t turn out well. I don’t know how else to put it.
Your government will own you outright if this passes.
We will fall as a once-free country.

If you are suggesting armed resistance and violent overthrow of the US Government, then you had better be prepared for the consequences. If you believe that strongly in the issue, you should start forming the armed resistance and mobilize those who feel the way you do. Good Luck.

I really don’t know how any American could not feel that strongly about freedom.
Obviously I’m one of a few who believe in freedom that strongly. If this country were made of men like me this would be a laughable notion in the dark recesses of some leftist beta’s mind. No real man reacts well to other men plotting to make state property of him.
If the alternative is to lay down while they work to create their utopia, with me and mine as slaves, then I’ll take the bloody revolution, thank you.
I think you have it mixed up, however. THEY are trying to overthrow the US government, FRiend, not I.
It is THEY who work at bringing about socialized medicine. It is clearly unconstitutional.

What, in principle, is so different about what’s happening now? I think they would have reached their boiling point a long time ago.

Humans have different comfort levels when it comes to loss of freedom. I happen to have a very low threshold for it and feel the loss as pain, clear and overwhelming.
The pain of the loss quickly outpaces the pain of resisting.
As ever, some are content with letting others do the fighting—worms and leeches among them.

Somethings really screwy when our representatives - rather than coming to hear their constituents voices - are only doing these things to try to sell their own decisions to the people.

Don't lecture me about freedom and putting your life on the line for your country. I did that in Vietnam and elsewhere.
What you are suggesting is violent overthrow of the government. That is a crime and you will have to pay the consequences of that decision and I doubt you will find many who will join you. Moreover, it would be counterproductive.
I favor a different kind of resistance similar to that of MLK and Ghandi, i.e., peaceful civil disobedience. I also don't share your all is lost view about ObamaCare, which will pass in one form or another. Obamacare can be dismantled. Amnesty cannot. It is forever.

One feels like an alarmist even saying it, but you need only look at the technicals and realize that there just are not a lot of options. This thing got too big for our rich uncle to bail us out.
We could be wrong, but there is no denying that the “doom and gloom stuff, in some form, is a very real risk.

What I did was buy acreage and a home in rural central Kentucky. Closed on it last week. My brother bought acreage and a home in Honduras.
Sometimes you gotta know when to fight, and when to be the last Jew on the last boat to the US out of Germany.
For this one, the latter course is prudent. There will be plenty of opportunity for “french resistance” type stuff later.

What’s your problem? If you want a violent overthrow of the government of the United States, then lead the way. Just because I have no intention of doing that shouldn’t prevent you and those who hold similar views from acting. As I said, talk is cheap. You are the one pissing and moaning.
