NYT: DEMS PLAN TO GO IT ALONE ON HEATHCARE... DEVELOPING...

Democrats see little chance for GOP cooperation on health care

WASHINGTON — Given hardening Republican opposition to congressional health care proposals, Democrats now say they see little chance for the minority's cooperation in approving any overhaul, and are increasingly focused on drawing support for a final plan from within their own ranks.

Top Democrats said Tuesday that their go-it-alone view was being shaped by what they saw as Republicans' purposely strident tone against health care legislation during this month's congressional recess, as well as remarks by leading Republicans that current proposals were flawed beyond repair.

The White House spokesman, Robert Gibbs, said of Republican lawmakers, "Only a handful seem interested in the type of comprehensive reform that so many people believe is necessary to ensure the principles and the goals that the president has laid out."

The Democratic shift may not make producing a final bill much easier. The party must still reconcile the views of moderate and conservative Democrats worried about the cost and scope of the legislation with those of more progressive lawmakers determined to win a government-run insurance option to compete with private insurers..........

Once the Democrats get 32 million losers on government health care, the country will die. These folks will not be voting Republican in 2010 or 2012.

FDR was elected to FOUR terms as president during the depths of the Great Depression and WW II. If that couldn;t shake the welfare state loose, nothing happening today will derail Santa from coming to 32 million new boys and girls...

“That actually could be from Kucinich. Sometimes he hits on something resembling the truth. What’s the core of the complaint? That the bill is a windfall for special interests? I think that is most likely right. Regulation is always supported by the big guys in an industry as it is a barrier to competition.”

The Cap & Trade and tax-and-regulate bill was watered down from a jackboot liberal Waxman bill to a corrupt giveaway in order to buy off special interests and gain votes. It seems that Kucinich is complaining of the same evolution here, craptacular wastes of money and inability to keep the bill “pure”. Taking public option out leaves little for the libs to love since they *want* to destroy private health insurance.

Emanuel calls all the shots. If you save pictures of the administration and look at them really well, it’s clear that odumbo doesn’t do much and Rahm and Axelgreaseball are doing all the work. I was looking at photos of past presidents in the oval office. Their desks were piled high with things they were working on. There is never a single thing on it now that Odumbo is there, nothing. Just himself and a phone. He’s never there. All he does is travel, play and sign what they bring to him.

The Dem plan is to get over %50 of the country beholding to them, the poor , immigrants and illegals and stupid kids.
Once that happens they rule forever . No one ever votes themselves out of a handout. We will have a 3rd world Socialist toilet where America once stood. we need to stop them NOW or else it may never be possible.Once the over 45/50 crowd dies off no one will even remember what it was like. We already have an entire generation of kids who were brainwashed by liberal educational practices.

And yet the most radical leftist was elected in the A.R era.

Correct. This time, though, I don't think it'll take 20 years for non-leftists to take back the White House, as was the case with FDR/Truman.

Obama is nothing more than an empty suit told what to do and when to do it. Bottom line is that we are no longer the lead dog. We pissed that away. Similar to Great Britain. Hello lower standard of living.

And I’m pinged at No. 73? LOL!

I, personally, don’t think the Health Bill will pass at any time or any where in the USA.

once an “entitlement” is created it is forever.

Most likely going forward, and certainly historically, you are correct. Not only that, but a Repub/Conservative POTUS elected in 2012 would then be demonized for 'ruining health care, killing old people, cutting off medicine to poor people' etc even if this passes now and stays in place.

We must kill this thing before it makes landfall.

Yes we might be able to make them pay for it afterwards, but that would only be after they had irretrievably screwed up health care in this country.

Most true my friend. We have to do it at all cost. I would favor civil disorder for starters.

If Democrats are now willing to “go it alone”, then they have “crossed the Rubicon”, and are willing to lose it all for their ridiculous leftist fantasies of Utopia.

They are proving themselves to be the unthinking juveniles we know them to be.

Idiots. They “could’a been a contender”, if they’d only stuck to the slow and careful game plan laid down by their masters.

The pic and caption on Drudge right now!

Just looking at those three faces tells you that the Dems are against the wall and floundering.

It's a lose-lose proposition for them at this point. They painted themselves into this corner with no help from us, and now they will pay the price for their stupidity and arrogance.

“These power-mad Marxist fools must have their POWER AND CONTROL. This is NOT about health care.”

Worth repeating.

Ah, but his past connections are dealing stuff to the Congress, so he knows what’s coming for him to sign into law. Example, the stimulus bill, written by the Apollo Project of Van Jones and handed to Harry Reid who even thanked them for ‘doing all the work’! ... The Apoloo Project is a melding of Social Justice activism (ACORN, etc.) + Unions (SEIU, AFL-CIO, etc.) + the green movement (Sierra Club, Green Peace, etc). This melding of the three most active far left orgs had resulted in a stimulus bill authored by an man who claims he became a communist whole in prison, a founder of Apollo Project and now Obama’s green jobs czar in the White HOuse. So you see, Barry knows well in advance what his operatives are working on and he doesn’t need lots of paperwork on his desk ... he’s the community organizer demigod don’tchaknow.

So you’re saying it’s a kind of political suicide bombing of the free enterprise system. Interesting concept. It changes the dynamics of what we might expect from them ....

The intent of the Constitution, to limit the feds, is long dead. It would take a miracle for the people to recover control over their government.

The miracle you speak of is happening all around you. Wake up and see it. Join it.

If any version of this bill passes, no matter how truncated, the whole thing will be in place after a couple of years. Bits and pieces of the stuff will be added as amendments to every piece of legislation that gets considered and agencies will regulate parts of it back into the law and courts will “decide” other parts back into it.

Exactly. The entire bill needs to be burnt into a cinder. Somehow I don't see that happening.
