Glenn Beck fans are fighting back against a campaign led by a black activist organization prompting major advertisers to withdraw from Beck's top-rated Fox News Channel program.
....
Now a husband and wife team of Beck fans has launched a website DefendGlenn.com that lists the contact information for advertisers for Beck's and other Fox News programs and provides users with information and suggestions to contact those companies to urge their continued sponsorship. The site also asks users to contact Beck's current patrons to thank them for their loyalty to the Fox News star's program.
"Our goal is to hit advertisers hard with response from Beck fans with real purchasing power, unlike the instigators of this phony Astroturf boycott," the founder of DefendGlenn told WND.
"At some point they will realize they've been punked by a bunch of paid activists, college students and slacker bloggers in their parents' basements who don't purchase their products anyway," said the founder, who asked that his name be withheld.
Wow.
Well stated.
I pray that you're right.
Here's the letter I sent them...
I am a 39 year old homemaker and my husband is a senior NCO in the US Army who's frequently deployed. Our family dog (who's very good at her job of “alarm”) is getting on in years and I've been considering getting an ADT security system to replace her. (We live out in the “boonies” and I don't like being alone while hubby is gone for so long.)
Regrettably, I just found out that you guys pulled your ads from the Glenn Beck Show (which happens to be the only news show this Texas family watches) due to pressure from some whiney group or another.
When I look to a company for protection, I'm looking for a company with guts. Somebody I can rely on, not a company that folds like a cheap suit as soon as they get a demanding letter from an anal-retentive, vegan, needs-to-be-reacquainted-with-a-bar-of-soap, bed-wetting, tree-hugging lefty.
I guess I'll just get another dog, put 911 on speed-dial, and reload my husband's gun.
What was a sure contract for your company is now gone.
If I see ADT commercials during the Glenn Beck Show within the next few weeks, I will reconsider. (Dogs really can be a pain in the butt and I'd rather not get another one if I don't have to. The last one did a number to my floors.)
Thank you for your time,
Mrs. F
I mentioned on another thread that my daughter had a policy with them and that I helped her “pay up” to get away from them (I wrote the pukes at Regressive and told them, too!).
Mostly what I wrote was similar to my original post - there is no need to get involved in politics in order to sell soap (and there is absolutely no sense in pissing off half the population by taking a stand either way!)...
Jesus wasn’t into letting his followers be victimized, either.
“Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” Luke 22;16.
I like it! To the point, respectful, and full of common sense. They can put it side by side with what they’re getting from the left and if they can’t see the difference I wouldn’t trust them with my business in any event!
It ought to be unlawful if he's being paid with taxpayers money. He's a felon thug...like many of Obama's friends/associates.
I phoned and actually talked with my State-Farm agent about their advertising...he doesn't agree with corporate policy and said he'd relay my complaint on up the ladder.
He said he listens to Glenn Beck daily and agrees with most of what he says.
We're going to a town hall meeting together tomorrow. LOL
(It's a small town and my family has been with this agency for decades. The old agent just retired and we have this new one I haven't met yet)
Did State Farm pull advertising? Let me know,I have a policy
I never could understand why any conservative would use Geico.... or why anyone would. There rates are not that good and their customer service with claims is deplorable.
I agree with your point of view. I just wonder if there has been some Rahmbotactics uses on some of the sponsors in some way. I would put nothing past this group of Chi-town thugs.
Have fun!
The kids and I are going to our first Tea party on Sept 3!
I’d love to go to a town hall, but my rep isn’t having one. I’d make a stink about that, but the man votes every way I want him to.
I can’t get *NO*... dissatisfaction! lol!
I don't see ADT listed as a "turncoat" on DefendGlenn.com.
I sent emails to P&G, Progressive, and Lawyers.com.
Progressive answered with some BS that they didn’t pull ads from Beck but their ads had not been contracted for Beck’s show and the error had been corrected.
I replied to their answer that I am glad I am not a Progressive shareholder since it doesn’t make much business sense to pass up an opportunity to advertise daily to over 2 million people on one of the most viewed cable news shows.
No response yet...
Great letter!
I was wondering about this as well since Van Jones is one of the czar’s and this stuff is supposed to be illegal out of the WH.
ADT is listed under ‘loyal’ advertisers.
Well, crap! That’s what I get for blogging after midnight!
Thank you for the catch! (I’ll go flog myself with a wet noodle, pout a bit, then go to bed.)
*Crap!*
