What constitutes "hateful speech?" It depends on the views of the individual, or in this case the advocacy group propagating the claim.

Earlier this week, Plymouth, Wisc.-based Sargento Food, Inc., along with several other companies, pulled their advertising from the Fox News Channel's "Glenn Beck" program at the behest of a campaign by Color of Change, an advocacy group.

Just sent an email to Sargento telling them I will no longer buy their crappy cheese-I also sent a letter to GEICO, of which I am a policyholder telling them that when my auto policy is complete I will be shopping for a new insurer-unless they rethink their decision to drop their ads on Glen Beck

Very sorry to hear about your decision to drop ads on the “Glenn Beck Show”. Apparently you are worried about offending members of left wing political groups. You should be just as worried about offending normal citizens like me who want both sides of issues to be heard, not just those approved by Mr. Obama’s political allies.

I used to enjoy your products but will no longer purchase them until you stop catering to those on the left side of the political spectrum.

Van Jones is not merely a supporter, he is Obama’s appointed Green Jobs Czar...that matters. The Czar position to begin with is a blatent power grab as they are neither alected or approved by Congress. To have on of his Czars shutting down free speech is absolutely appalling and possibly illegal.

I did too. She didn't seem in the least bit concerned or interested. Most companies cave to the Left but have no fear of conservatives. I think Sargento is going to learn a thing or two.

Thanks for Barb's e-mai at Sargento. This is the e-mail I sent her. I am so happy your corporation has decided to choose sides in the culture war raging in our beloved country. I do believe this will lead to great things. Unfortunately, am on the other side so we will not be buying anymore of your company's products. I still think it is a great thing because I am looking forward to a day when all companies tell us which side they are on and consumers can decide who they want to support. Of course selling your products only to ACORN, SEIU, and welfare families may decrease your profits and actually drive you out of business but it has certainly helped me to know whom to support with the resources I have left after taxes.

She sent me the canned response and I responded back with the following:

If you actually took time to watch the Glenn Beck show -- like over three million people a day, you would know he does not do what you have all been led to believe. In fact he has been very methodical in laying out what is going on in this country and by using FACTS to do it. In doing so he has made the current administration very uncomfortable. Have you taken the time to look into Van Jones (sorry I misspelled earlier) and found out who he is and who he is affiliated with? Glenn Beck has and a lot of us out there have as well.

Instead of arbitrarily dropping your advertising on his program, it would have been nice if you, and others who have done the same, took the time to do your own research or watch his program.

Of course the White House is upset, but are they now determining who has free speech in this country? and telling advertisers who they can advertise for?
