Hillary Clinton has risked more controversy on her Africa trip by comparing the disputed 2000 US presidential election to corruption in Nigeria's political system.
Secretary of State Clinton stopped by to warn the continent's largest nation that vote-rigging was eroding its government's legitimacy and global aspirations.
But while discussing the importance of free and fair elections at a town hall meeting, she likened the country's corruption problems to the disputed 2000 Florida recount that sealed George W. Bush's presidential victory.
Mrs Clinton said: "In a democracy there have to be winners and losers. And part of creating a strong democratic system is that the losers, despite how badly we might feel, accept the outcome. Because it is for the good of the country we love.
"Our democracy is still evolving. You know, we had all kinds of problems in some of our past elections, as you might remember.
"In 2000, our presidential elections came down to one state where the brother of the man running for president was the governor of the state. So we have our problems, too."

I thought my post was good.. but that one was AWESOME!
Be careful she’ll throw a cigarette ashtray at you.
LOL!
So now she’s channeling SORE/LOSERMAN
“In 2000, our presidential elections came down to one state where the brother of the man running for president was the governor of the state.
+++++++++++++
So much for ‘looking forward’ and not to the past (didn’t she get zero’s memo?)
So much for being honest about the 2008 elections with its bring out the dead, illegal voting in cities in swing states by PIRG and ACORN types, illegal contributions from all over the globe for the ‘the one.’
And, oh Hil, you forgot to mention the rampant election corruption and contribution fraud of your hubby and algore.
Right, yeah, ‘the system is still evolving.’
We don’t yet have those nasty right wing conspirators under our thumb and bootheel - so we’re still evolving.

As long as Mrs Clinton and the democrat party are the winners in an election, the system works.
If another party wins, then the system is corrupt and the other party cheated(2000).

"Did I say that?"

I agree completely. Among the problems with the election were :
1. Throwing out absentee ballots of their political opponents
2. Hand selecting the counties and even precincts that would be recount while trying to ignore the rest of the state
3. Torturing every ballot until it confessed a vote for Gore under strangely varying counting rules
4. Creating and approving a ballot layout but then crying that it was confusing and unfair
5. Holding illegal secret election board meeting that was only stopped when the Republicans chanted and pounded on the door
were the Democrats in some Florida counties ran the election like it was some third world hellhole.
PS The real Supreme Court decision that the whole state had to be recount under consistent rules was 7-2. The 5-4 decision was only that the Dems had screwed around so long that time had run out for being able to do it right.

What a line, my answer is that the 2000 election came down to one state, the great and wonderful state of Tennessee which is unfortunate enough to be called the home state of Al Gore. If Gore had been able to carry his own home state he would have been president without worrying about Florida. Any man who cannot carry his own home state does not deserve to be president, they know him best.
If the 2000 election had been settled in Florida, the lib Florida Supreme Court would have chosen Al Gore. But thankfully the Florida Supreme Court wasn’t allowed to have the last word. That didn’t have anything to do with Jeb Bush.
A far, far better analogy would be between the mistreatment of women in some African countries and her husband’s actions. Juanita Broaddrick anyone?
And to me the Democrats’ 2000 election slander is nothing less than an attack on our electoral system, and our country. Very insidious. Maybe Holocaust denial is just around the corner for them.
She should be at home baking cookies.
You’ve really got no other conclusion to come to than that these people really are not good or well meaning. Their self righteous, outright corrupt nature and ability to project so easily is really one of life’s great mysteries. Amazing how people can do such wrong in life with fear of no consequences. I want to say that people who think somehow Shrillery would have been better than 0bama are off the mark. Demonrats are all the same with corruption and power and control being at their core. It is an exception rather than a rule to find good people that are involved in that party. You have your naturally ignorant people who buy the BS about how they are for the poor and oppressed and all sweetness and light, but once you follow politics and are that involved, they really have sold their souls. I’m just sick of the acceptance of these really vicious and uncivil attacks and the inability of the GOP to finally realize what they are up against. These people really have no limit to their sleaze and corruption. And they are not goo by any means.
No Hillary - It’s the 2008 election that was rife with corruption..... a/k/a ACORN
Yeah, Hillary, and the only reason anyone pays any attention to you is because of your last name, which isn't yours, it came from your husband. What a jackass.
Just tell Nigeria to hire Acorn.
