Congressman: Town hall protesters committing 'political terrorism' @ 2:22 pm by Michael O'Brien
Protesters who have interrupted town hall meetings are guilty of committing "political terrorism," one Democratic lawmaker said Wednesday.
Rep. Baron Hill (D-Ind.), a centrist Democrat, said that he can tolerate political differences, those who have shouted down congressmen and senators at town hall meetings across the country in recent weeks have taken things to a different level.
"I don't mind people disagreeing with you, but just to blow up a meeting is an act of political terrorism," Hill told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
"They have only one purpose in mind and that's to blow up the meetings that are being held and that serves no one, ladies and gentlemen," he said of the protesters, according to WISH-TV. That outlet is also reporting that Republicans have demanded an apology from Hill over the terrorism words.
Those comments come after lawmakers have had to fend off the highly-publicized interruptions from constituents during the August recess, reflecting some dyspepsia over the healthcare reform plans before Congress.
House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said earlier Wednesday that the town hall meetings are part of the healthcare battle, which he characterized as a "fight for the heart and soul of the United States of America."
Meanwhile, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) said that he nationally televised town hall, which included unfavorable outbursts, was "terrific."
If you vote for this calumny, you won't be re-elected. You won't be able to win Mayor of Seymour. Take that to your K Street bank.
Baron Hill
And "political terrorism?"
Such incendiary language aimed at us from one of our public servants.
Who does this dolt think he is? I think I can safely speak for the majority that his words are insulting and very incendiary.
"They have only one purpose in mind and that's to blow up..."
I can't tell you my disgust with this so-called man over the above comment.
I think later I'll give him a piece of my mind via snail mail.
What Baron Hill is doing is called:
REVERSE-TREASON!!!!!
Bump To The Top! Thank you for the link!
Pop, he's from Seymour. And right now, he's bringing nothing but shame upon a great little town that deserves so much better representation than some jock-turned-KStreet-grifter who has lost his way.
Baron Hill is a far left fraud. He’s over stayed his welcome. Time for him to go. I cannot stand him.
I thought the proper way to handle terrorists is to sit down with them and make them your friends unlike that other fella Bush who refused to discuss matters with terrorists.
The democrat machine has that honed to an art as well.
Sorry, I'd like to think you are right about voter intelligence and integrity, but the last two elections have mostly convinced me otherwise.
Southern Indiana is locally democrat and nationally Republican outside of Bloomington and Evansville. (Obama won by running up big margins in Chicago suburbs and Indianapolis)
The best shot at this seat and others seats with a lot of conservative small d democrat or ticket splitting voters like Hill, Ellsworth, Shuler, Childers, Schauer, Stupak, and the Dakotas is to give them the Tom Dashchle treatment. They have gone national and forgot where they came from. I'd go after Harry Reid as well.
Hill has just committed political suicide in Indiana. No way the voters will let him get away with it. He’s gone next year, guarantee.
They still don’t get it.
Next year, all of these sound bites with members of Congress calling Americans terrorists, Nazis and un-American will make lovely campaign commercials for conservative candidates.
These things tend to stick with voters.
in the same vein, here is a golden oldie I came across today; Dan Rostenkowski being chased down a street by a group of elderly voters over health care legislation in 1989(^ to YouTube).
Enjoy.
Baron Hill voted FOR:
*Campaign Finance Reform
*$750 Stimulus (without reading it)
* Cap and Trade (also without reading it)

here’s an idea ... do phone fundraising for the candidate of your choice. You can get a cell phone with unlimited minutes and a local phone# of the district you are calling to.
An intriguing idea, but with two candidates I don’t feel are potentially viable (and more awkward calling up people out of the blue in a strange state to solicit), I’d think it may be a wasted effort. A lot of people don’t want to be solicited in that way, either (in fact, some get quite angry about it, hence the do-not-call lists). It’d be better to do that sort of calling within my own state.
yea, i was not suggesting INDIANA, just someplace you’re interested in. The campaigns have methods they use for phoning for $$$.
yer more of an ideas man than a $$$ man.
