Bret Baier reported that "tons of email" followed the comments of Mort Kondracke and Charles Krauthammer on the Monday panel (Aug. 10th). Rush picked up on their comments today and Mort was back defending himself this evening.
I emailed the show tonight (Special@foxnews.com) and let off some steam. Just wondering how many fellow Freepers have voiced their opinions of Mort's ridiculous positions such as the ones expressed last night and tonight (comparing Town Hall attendees with Code Pink protestors) -- especially since he doesn't have a public email at Roll Call or anywhere else that I'm aware of.
I trust I'm not alone in Freeper world!
Mort’s a leftie. What do you expect?
Mort has been inside the beltway for too long.
Sent this: Mort you fawning democratic sycophant, get over the messiah!
Here’s my email to Special Report:
Sirs:
I want to add to the ton of email that youve been getting in the last two evenings I would have written last night but I wasnt exactly sure where your email is. Tell Mort that Ive noticed that he doesnt appear to have a public email at Roll Call or anywhere else that his opinions are published is he afraid of being confronted on his biased and baseless opinions?
First, to compare the people who are attending Town Hall meetings with Code Pink demonstrators at Congressional Hearings or other venues like that is ludicrous the meetings Code Pink demonstrated in were never intended to be open public discussions the Town Halls ARE! And to say that Rush Limbaugh has coached these attendees is again crazy they started with the Tea Parties (remember Rick Santelli of CNBC calling the citizenry to arms?) and have now evolved to the Town Hall Meetings. It was only after the first Town Hall meetings generated so much enthusiasm and controversy that Rush began to comment. And what have the attendees done? Theyve challenged their representatives to read the bill. Theyve challenged their representatives on the various points of substance in the bill. And they have been called Nazis and displaying Un-American behavior.
The Obama Administration (and the Obama Campaign during 2007-8) has enjoyed the most compliant and supportive media of any Administration/Candidate in my long lifetime as a result, opposition is silenced, questioned or marginalized. Now Mort and Charles are saying that protestors must be respectful and polite when their patriotism is being questioned and they are being compared to Hitler, while the Obama mouthpieces are allowed to ignore the FACTS in the current Bill and the OBVIOUS IMPLICATIONS of the Bill. With Morts experience with health care, I would think he would be sensitive to the FACTS and IMPLICATIONS here.
Anyway, please add me to the Cadre of faithful viewers who expressed their disgust with Morts and Charles dismissal of the activists at these meetings. They are speaking for MILLIONS who cannot attend and Im thankful theyve raised their voices in protest.
Sincerely,
ReleaseTheHounds
Never watched the show since Brit left ... It went to seed then.
Not surprised by Kondracke — but Krauthammer has been a disappointment....
Those who condescendingly advocate meekness and ‘civility’ are ignoring one important fact, which was articulated by a commentator on Cavuto as:
“People tend to shout when they believe they’re not being heard.”
They’re not listening, so we gotta get their attention....
Mort basically said Coke Pink were, to paraphrase Mort, "rude" and the health care protesters were "hooligans"
Frame the debate and the odds on your side to win.
Excellent letter.
I think this is an elitism issue.
All the talk about civil discourse, getting permission to speak, don’t interrupt, etc misses the point.
The ruling elite don’t want to hear from us and they have the deck stacked to appear to be hearing us at townhalls when they aren’t - just using them as cover to continue their imposition of legislation they refuse to live under.
Mort and Charles need to wake up... but inside the Beltway that seems too tall an order.
Mort said most of the anti-Obamacare protesters were rude and didn’t allow the congresscritters to speak — that they effectively stifled any chance for debate. Lies, of course. Sure, there was a lot of exuberance. But Specter and the rest of them weren’t denied their say, nor were they denied the chance to respond to the criticism. Mort saw what he wanted to see, not what actually took place. Same with Kraut. ...who’s been in the Beltway way too long as well.
I did. Immediately after the program
I’m glad that they received a lot of emails, and I’m glad Rush addressed it today.
Mort has always been a dolt, but I had to reassess my opinion of Krauthammer after I heard him say that even though Geithner is a tax cheat, he was the only person who could be Secretary of the Treasury and bring the country back from the brink! I remember at that point thinking that he needs to get out of DC for a while. When Rush said today that they had been inside the Beltway too long, I walked over to my radio and planted a kiss on it.

Mort's just not insane left, like the Democrat base now is, which makes some think he's a conservative. He's not.
all opinions are biased dude.
He looks so plastic. He is the typical inside the Beltway Jewish Boy, who wants to be politically correct. I suspect it’s about making a living—but I wish FOX would dump him.
He and I know that you have to keep up with the times but some people can't.
