David Scott on a racial undertone in the debate over health care reform
AJC ^

Just got off the phone a few minutes ago with U.S. Rep. David Scott of metro Atlanta, who underlined what he said are some worrisome racial undertones in the current health care debate.
As noted this morning, Scott was the topic of a WXIA TV report over the weekend, which detailed an Aug. 1 confrontation with opponents of health care reform at a town hall meeting in Douglasville.
Scott angrily accused protestors of attempting to hijack the meeting.

So I guess it is racist to oppose socialized medicine.

You know the dems have lost when they play the race card. I’m just surprised it’s taken them so long.

I watched that video, and felt the racial undertones myself. The rep was snarling at a white guy, saying that the meeting was for "his constituents"--any reason he assumed that the white guy was not a constituent? Turned out, he was, and had attempted to contact Scott several times previous with questions.

And don’t forget the conservative black dude who was beaten up by SEIU thugs. Did the media report that? Nah...

Wait, is this the guy she (name like Huckstable, or Huckabee, escapes me right now) she was running against? I actually donated a little bit to her campaign!

This is the default approach. When losing the argument, change the subject. Racism, the Old Reliable. I’m sick of it. I bet I am not alone.

I wonder if there would have to be affirmative action guidelines on health care? Is there any way to measure the absurdity of letting bureaucrats and politicians run health care.
Oh, wait how about looking at other countries? I take greedy Corporations competing for customers any day.
Next time a Lib tells you how great it will be to have government run healthcare ask them if they will trust the Republican party to run it when they gain back the power again.
Liberals are the most shortsighted people!
Incredible.

The racial overtones are this: Under a Liberal administration, blacks get the aspirin that falls on the floor. Just look at the nice housing Democrats have given blacks for 60 years! If I were black, I'd be really concerned about the euthanasia and abortion thangs...

So I guess it is racist to oppose socialized medicine. It's all in how you cook the boo...Um, look at the numbers.
If there are seven times as many white people as there are black people, and exactly the same amount is spent on medical interventions that save each person's life exactly once, then....
...seven times as many white people were saved at a cost seven times that which was spent on blacks.
See, if you just put half of your brain to sleep and don't use the other half, it's easy to think like a race-baiting liberal.
Gee whiz.

How quickly the race card is pulled.

The rep was snarling at a white guy, saying that the meeting was for "his constituents"--any reason he assumed that the white guy was not a constituent? Turned out, he was, and had attempted to contact Scott several times previous with questions. I've noticed a trend in demoRats responses to the town hall confrontations. They seem to be redefining "constituent" to mean someone who voted for them, not someone who lives in their district.
This follows closely to Marx's response to a question about anyone who didn't want to be a part of the socialist revolution, where he said to disenfranchise them, confiscate their property and don't allow them to buy or sell.

“how quickly the race card is pulled”
And Scott looked like the REAL racist this time. He basically accused the white questioner of not being one of his constituents (because he wasn’t black) Of course, the AJC fails to mention that this man did, indeed, live in Scotts district. Scott is an unapologetic racist who owes this man an apology.
