He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth

A circle and a sphere are two different things. But you bring out only one of many OT instances that show the ancient belief of a flat earth. They add up pretty well.

it was impossible for a first-century man to know that there would be a time when the technology would exist to number every person on earth

Technology would not be at all necessary with the power of Satan behind the move.

Christians never had power in the government.

Oh yeah, the Pope never crowned the Holy Roman Emporers. Some form of "By the Grace of God" was not the near the beginning of the titles of most European kings and queens.

And, believe me, it's not Christians you need to be concerned about.

Correct. Thankfully the Christians lost their secular power. But now we have a new pseudo-religion growing that's reaching its tentacles into everything, Global Warming.

The problem isn't religion though. It's fanaticism, whether religion, communism or environmentalism is the tool.

Hey silly, consent of the Church was not required.

There’s no question that the article is biased towards the atheists, just as the article referenced later in the thread from Answers in Genesis is biased towards the creationists. Who’s telling the truth? Without independent verification, it’s he said/she said.

There is no doubt the Papacy tried to establish supremacy over the Carolingians, Franks and other barbarian kingdoms. It was sometimes successful and brought some civilization to the barbarians.

The later Germans emperors for a period were brought to heel by the Papacy through intrigue with German nobility.

On the downside, Phillip the Fair of France kidnapped Pope Boniface and established his own “Papacy” in Avignon. For a time there were thus two popes, one in Avignon and one in Rome. By the end of the medieval period the power of the Papacy was in steep decline.

Christianity is beneficial and good; I acknowlege that and consider myself one.

I would like to give you an opportunity to lay out — without criticism or carping from me — the bibilical reasoning that underlies your apparent belief that the world was created a few years ago, in a few short days.

This is why you don't have any credibility. If you have to lie about what I posted, then you don't have a case.

Technology would not be at all necessary with the power of Satan behind the move.

What does this mean? How is that remotely relevant with what God wrote about the subject?

Oh yeah, the Pope never crowned the Holy Roman Emporers. Some form of "By the Grace of God" was not the near the beginning of the titles of most European kings and queens.

Let me know when the Pope controlled your life, or had any effect over the government in the country you live in.

Correct. Thankfully the Christians lost their secular power. But now we have a new pseudo-religion growing that's reaching its tentacles into everything, Global Warming.

Christians never had "secular power" in America. And global warming is a belief system that man has the power to control the weather. That belief system would find a home in the Secular Humanist religion but has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity.

I have not studied Creationism. I suspect you haven’t either.

Creationists on FR do not attempt to convince others by laying out the logic of creationism.

That is the clearest possible evidence they are mostly trolls.

I retract my offer to hear your explanation of creationism, since you don’t claim to be one.

I read your profile and it seems pretty sensible.

Why you and I are on opposite sides of anything here is probably an accident.

I note you said one or two mildly intemperate things, calling me a troll and somebody else a name. That kind of thing gets people zotted eventually.

Anyway, have a good day, and watch out for the trolls.

Christianity is beneficial and good; I acknowlege that and consider myself one.

As a self professed Christian you believe in the Trinity.

Please explain the concept outside the envelope of Faith as you wish the Creationists to explain their beliefs.

No, I will not discuss it here/now. I expect this thread to be a place where creationism is the focus, and I want to learn about it, from someone who claims to be one.

Here is my proposition to you, Jacquerie.

If you will do the same, let’s go to the FR donations page and give $20 one-time. Shame me by telling me you routinely donate a whole bunch more than that; I may have to match you.

Are you with me?

Yes, I’ll bet that they were acting like rowdy teenagers showing disrespect to the museum and everyone there.

Post 45 gives the museum's version of the story.

The good news out of this episode is that the atheists were treated to some of the Gospel at the museum.

The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. (Psalms 16:9)

Indeed!

> So, it is a museum promoting a myth with made up exhibits

You mean the Darwinist ones, right?

They’re the ones promoting hoaxes masquerading as “science”.

* The “hominids”: Nebraska Man, Piltdown Man, Java Man, Lucy
* Dinosaurs turning into birds
* Shrews turning into bats
* Hopeful monsters
* Punctuated equilibrium
* Everything came from nothing out of nowhere for no apparent reason.
* Life is just a curious side effect of an unknowing, uncaring cosmos.
* When you die, you’re just so much compost.

You will die someday. Then, you will either know the Truth, or you will know nothing.

You’re betting on nothing.

Boa sorte.

I didn’t think so. I didn’t think you would hold yourself to the same standard of faith you appear to demand of others.
