The Plan for Government-Funded Socialist Media - AIM Report
Accuracy In Media ^ | June 8, 2009 | Cliff Kincaid

However, Free Press, at this May 14 summit, didn't say one word about the well-documented liberal bias that has contributed to the decline in readers and viewers for traditional media outlets and has enabled the rise of the Fox News Channel, conservative talk radio, and the Internet. Instead, Josh Silver of Free Press attacked the "bellowing ideologues" on the air and declared that "The entire dial is empty of local news in many communities."

New Strategy

This was a tip-off that, in order to take conservative radio hosts off the air, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will be flooded with complaints that "local news" has been shortchanged by stations airing conservative personalities with national programs.

With all the rap/pop music trash stations about, the liberals have enough outlet to express their loonieness. But because they are going to be more and more ashamed of what comes out of their mouthes, they will muzzle themselves and demand others follow suit. Watch the murder suicide saga keep on going.

It’s all about rationing and blocking people in mentality. It’s all about criminalizing anything out of the “ordinary”. It’s all about pimping and professionaly prostituting people.
It’s all about moderate abstentionist conformizationist “autodiscipline” professionalist rationist statist BS from here on out.

Yet another deliberate mischaracterization. Every one of the talk radio stations in my area has local news on the half-hour- and I know that’s the case for most metro areas. Also- if a local only news station brought in advertising dollars for the stations- they’d do it.

But the facts and free enterprise do not interest the likes of these control freaks.

THE TRUE HISTORY OF A GREAT PATRIOT
The Late Senator Joseph R McCarthy
narrated by Mrs Larry Lawrence Lent, his secretary
published by The Government Educational Foundation, 1998

I am delighted to talk about Senator McCarthy. This is being recorded in April 1990, and that’s about forty years since I was with Senator McCarthy.

It is true; when people learn that I have been secretary to Senator McCarthy, they invariably want to know, “What was he really like?” To me Senator McCarthy was a courageous American hero. His religious convictions and his deep love for his country were topmost in his mind. He believed in our Constitution and the American people. He believed that he could help preserve liberty and justice by ridding the nation of its enemies........snip

Liberal groups want the gov’t to fund reporters’ salaries.

Liberal groups want the gov’t to control healthcare.

Liberal groups want to abolish capital punishment and life-in-prison.

Wake up America!

The local (generally right wing) political talk stations are the ones with the best news reporting. The loss of news isn't because of the talk stations but because of the a few media giants buying up radio stations and using them to transmit remotely programmed streams like Generic Rock 1, Generic Rock 2, Generic Classic Rock, Generic Country and Generic Hip-Hop. The only thing local is the engineer who makes sure that the stacks of computers bringing in the remote feed and adding local commercials at the right time are still running and connected to the transmitters.

“Liberal groups want to abolish capital punishment and life-in-prison.”

Because once they are in charge (as has been historically observed in Germany, Romaina, USSR, China, etc....) they don’t imprison dissenters, they shoot them. No prisons needed.

And how might this tie in with Dan Rather's recent reported "appeal" to the president to "save" journalism? According to a report in the Aspen newspaper, Rather said, “I personally encourage the president to establish a White House commission on public media.”

Rather was reported to have said that such a commission should make recommendations to save jobs in journalism and to keep news companies running.

A free press we need. A White House mandated commission to thwart the will of the people who decide not to read a one-sided view of the world by canceling their subscriptions to the NYT we do not need.

Radio died many years ago. Talk radio and syndication are all that’s left. Television is dying because of infomercials, political correctness, and edited shows.

I was a broadcaster for twenty five years. It was slavery for most of us even in the good years. We worked six days a week, didn’t even get holidays off, and were paid next to nothing. Finally the station owners went automated and got rid of us. There aren’t a whole lot of jobs in radio.

[”The entire dial is empty of local news in many communities.”]

Who cares? Who listens to the radio for anything but talk radio, music or a baseball game? This is 2009—not 1959. They get local news from television, their weekly paper, or at the barber shop. When did a liberal ever get his news from some scratchy AM station? What a weak ruse.
