Cokie thinks we are ill-behaved.

And how silly we all are when there is not a bill yet, not really. Silly citizens.

Don’t kid yourselves. We know what you are up to.

They know that the nation has to be torn down before it can be rebuilt on a socialist model.

“The far left could’t care less how badly the average American is hurt by their policies. They have the power to wound capitalism enough in this two year period, that it may never recover.

I believe they will do it. Watch for the Dems in the Senate to bypass or eliminate the filibuster for Crap and Trade, the Health Bill for now, immigration later. That has to happen for their agenda to succeed.”

Your summation is correct. I hope and pray none if comes to fruition.

It looks like The One is trying to flood the air with National Security issues. Taking credit for drone kills, or shifting the heat off increasing casualties, or taking the heat off the Obama Medical Care Final Solution?

AND threaten the GOP on Obamacare with a CIA investigation of past goings on.

It will be interesting to see what does happen after the election.

Cokie...a true waste of oxygen.

She’s finding out Americans are not as stupid as she thinks.

As do I, but the Democrats have wanted this for a very long time, and they will do their worst to make sure it happens.

They’re constantly told we have to cover the uninsured. But those who HAVE insurance discovered the Democrat plan will have profound effects on THEM. They wonder-—if we’re going to spend all that money-—why not just calculate the cost to cover the uninsured, tell Americans what it will cost, and then debate that?

Because most Americans would be willing to talk about "the cost to cover the uninsured" - BECAUSE we're paying for the poor to see doctors now. At emergency rooms - the most expensive medical care there is - a visit can run $600 to $800. The same visit to a doctors office would cost $60. And trust me, those of us with insurance are paying the %600 for the kid who has a stuffy nose.

I'd be willing to talk about that. So if for a second I felt dems were people of good will - which they're not - it would be an interesting debate.

The reason dems don't "slow it down" as you suggest and include our input is the excuse of "care for the poor" is a horse to ride. What they want is more central control.

Those who hand out "life and death" favors to the public have citizens by the proverbial short hairs. And those handing out the favors would be dems. They would have the "pull with the health care system"...

If we speak up against Dems - if we're not in the right party - if we don't have the right connections - our mother doesn't' get the operation - and dies. Same with our loved children.

If you look at the corruption in the dem party you will see that this power is NOT something we trust them with. So your comments are innocent. There is more going on here than meets the eye...

To: Alas Babylon!; sand lake bar
Well, ok. Yesterday I posted an editorial called "What if They Don't Care?"

First, to sand lake bar, Ras has O moving down again today. I have watched Ras closely, and O vacillates like a mountain range but his general, steady direction has been down. So I think you're wrong on this but also I think IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Consider this possibility, namely that Obama has already factored in losing 30 House seats and 4-5 Senate seats next year and doesn't care. Yes, some of those legislators/senators will care, but I'm convinced O has already "provided" for them, that they already have cushy and powerful jobs lined up inside the admin IF they lose.

Need evidence that this is the case? Just this week, Lloyd Doggett and the guy from NC (forget his name, but there is a thread here about it) both said they don't care what their constituents want.

Everywhere, the Dem congressmen are hiding, sending low-level staffers, avoiding meeting with the public. Does this sound like people who care what their constituents thing?

Of course not. It looks exactly like people who plan to ram this through no matter what and hope the voters forget or (see my comments above) get another job.

If they get the bill in place that they want, it will take an ideologically committed SUPERMAJORITY to dismantle it. Does anyone here think, even if Obama's popularity plunges, we will get 100 House seats and 35 Senate seats in just over a year? And remember, every one of these people would have to be not just REPUBLICANS but ideologically committed CONSERVATIVES to undo this.

In short, I don't think the Tea Parties and town halls matter. I think they've already calculated in "acceptable casualties."

Could it be because you, like your Democrat Party masters, are simply lying to the American people?

The same media/press that spends time and money digging for dirt in Alaska, followed by total misrepresentation and outright lies?  The same media/press that has no interest in proving once and for all that this president was born in America?

The same media/prss that looks at obviously home made signs at town hall meetings as organized while seeing factory made signs as somehow grass roots and spontaneous?  The same media/press that labels any opposition as un-American and bullying tactics of thugs as somehow patriotic?

Certainly, we have an independent, well meaning objective media/press.

I think to an extent guns have taken a back seat with the public full stop because of the increase in knife crime and unfortunately the public are swallowing the rhetoric again and going along with more stringent rules and punishment for being caught with knife not actually using it even.

It is getting to the point that probably a chef going work caught face prosecution for carrying a dangerous weapon.

The youths however are up in arms over this saying they need knives to protect themselves from others carrying them.

I didn’t realize how different CNN was until we went on a cruise. It’s no wonder folks in other countries don’t like Americans. I watched more BBC than CNN.

What polls would that be? using the Rass. poll and others who track only likely voters AND use a rolling average, I see no such bounce. No poll numbers go continuously down or up, but fluctuate. This is why the “snapshot” polls which are done over 3-5 days and maybe once every month or 5 weeks are useless. They can be coordinated with a favorable event such as the prisoner release from N Korea or the Unemployment rate drop (bogus as it is) to produce a false reading. By the time these results are reported another event will have occurred or people will have forgotten or learned more about the event causing the numbers to increase and their minds are again changed. The rolling average is by far the most accurate and using likely voters only makes it that much more accurate.

Unemployment number drop was release

On problem for the Left that number is not real. 247,000 more Americans lost their jobs last month. That was "lower then expected" but still represents losts jobs. The hype is all over the fact that the job losses were not as high as expected. It a false spring. Makes the people in power all happy but doesn't do anything for the 15,000,0000 or so Americans looking for work

You really want to try auguring that by fighting back we are losing?

Sigh. No, I didn't say that. I'll try to be more clear.
WE NEED MESSAGE DISCIPLINE.

We should have ONE OBJECTIVE right now: bring more people to our side on health care.

Who is most likely to be persuaded?
---People who have insurance---and fear losing it.
---Seniors.
---And the millions who worry about the massive deficits (and growth of gov't).

Those should be our target audience. I would give everything I have if I could get our side, including politicians, to stick to the point and repeat ad nauseum our basic concerns. (Why the rush? Leave the insured people alone. Why does it cost so much? Don't cut Medicare. ) That's the message our target audience will respond to. All the talk of media bias and socialism means little to them. So we need to stop blurring our message.

When we defeat health care our other objectives will follow: humiliate the media, diminish Obama's power, etc.

But we have to defeat health care FIRST. With the spotlight on us we can do that...but we have to have a pithy cohesive message and stay on topic!

I'm not trying to tell people what to say or how to say it. I'm simply stating a reality in a media driven environment.

In my dimmer by the day memory Rumsfeld’s strategy defeated the Taliban and Saddam’s army in less than 60 days each. Not at all shabby if you ask this old tanker. Maintaining a peace has proven to be more problematic, but if you want to win a war in record time, ask Don Rumsfeld how.
