Seven months after she poured out her heartbreak in a wrenching letter to then President-elect Obama, the mother of murdered Brooklyn Marine Sgt. Jan Pawel Pietrzak finally got a response - a form letter.
"Thank you for contacting President Obama," the note to Henryka Pietrzak-Varga begins. "We hope the issue you brought to the President's attention has been resolved."
Pietrzak-Varga, whose son and daughter-in-law were tortured and murdered last year allegedly by four other Marines, told a Polish newspaper she doubts Obama saw her letter.
"This is a standard response, something that can be sent out to anyone for any matter," the disappointed mom told the Dziennik Wschodni newspaper.
"What am I supposed to make of, 'We hope the issue has been resolved?' What does this mean? That somebody will give me my son back?"
The June 19 letter from White House aide F. Michael Kelleher arrived amid pre-trial hearings of the accused Marines, all of whom have pleaded not guilty to robbing and killing the sergeant and his wife, Quiana, in October 2008.
The White House could not immediately be reached for comment.
Prosecutors insist the Pietrzaks were slain for their money, but a homicide investigator has testified the Marines spray-painted racist remarks in the couples' California home.

Actually it occurred more than two weeks before the elections (15 Oct. I think). The first press story with any details I can find ran on the 7th of November. So yes, they tried to protect Barry. Pretty disgusting.
I have no doubt this was a deliberate “piss on you, military family” in-your-face insult intended to cause pain to this family.

BTW...I forgot to mention...it was a bi-racial couple. Husband was white, wife was black. I think the wife may have been treated worse BECAUSE she married a white guy.
This was the case about the eastern European immigrant who became a marine sergeant, white, married to a black girl, who were both murdered by four (I think it was four) black marines from his unit. These guys are black supremacists who didn’t want a white guy to be married to a black woman. They shouldn’t have been in the marine corps in the first place.

Has Obama made any public statement or talked to the family of the soldier killed by the jihadist in Little Rock? Has he met with the surviving soldier?

I always thought there was some permanent staff there who would know how to handle such things, no matter how much of a neophyte got elected pres.
Maybe I was just wrong about that.
I doubt Obama is directly responsible for this, can you imagine how many letters the President of the US gets? Somebody down the chain failed to handle this properly.

I would take that letter door to door and send it to Rush, Hannity, Levin, Beck, and the rest of the media that are willing to speak the truth to show as many of the American people as I could the true lack of character that is residing within the White House and within the US Congress. Disgusting and reprehensible are mild words to describe this horror that has been foisted upon the American people.

You aren’t the only one. I have read a few threads lately where many have been waxing nostalgic for Clinton.
There have always been Bad Marines and there always will be Bad Marines.
We don’t disown them or deny them, we mourn the fact that somewhere along the line they failed to carry themselves as Marines.
Good advice. I think Hannity would run with it.
