Dem rep. accuses constituents of 'hijacking' town hall meeting @ 10:23 am by Jordan Fabian
Rep. David Scott (D-Ga.) launched a tirade at a town hall meeting about a highway project in his district on Friday, accusing audience members who asked about healthcare reform of being outsiders who "hijacked" his meeting.
"Those of you here who have taken, who have came, who hijacked this event that we're dealing with here," Scott said.
"I'm listening to my constituents. These are people who live in the 13th congressional district, who vote in this district," he added.
In fact, Scott directed his remark at Dr. Brian Hill who is a resident of the 13th district. Hill asked why Scott "voted for" healthcare reform "that is shown not to work in the state of Massachusetts."
Scott's outburst came during the meeting's question and answer session in which constituents were allowed to ask questions on any topic. A local NBC affiliate in Atlanta captured video of the meeting.
The Georgia Democrat became increasingly enraged after some in the audience disputed his remarks.
At one point, Scott stood up and pointed to the audience, shouting "you want a meeting with me on healthcare? I'll give it to you!"

So he only considers you a constituent if you’re black? Nice.
Should be labeled Congressman Acting Stupidly Alert.
Where was all this outrage from Dems over the past 8 years as anti-war protesters disrupted meetings, shut down recruiting offices, harrassed speakers at colleges, clogged city streets and applauded the President having shoes thrown at him in a press conference in Iraq?
Where was the outrage when Dems stood on the floors of Congress calling our Troops cold blooded murders or compared them to Nazi’s or Soviet Gulags?
For 8 years we saw some of the most outrageous conduct from not only Dem supporters, but the elected officials as well. There is still a group fighting for indictment of Bush’s administration for their work protecting America.
Where have Dems been when groups like moveon.org issued marching orders to followers and manipulated voters?
And now, Dems want a “peaceful discourse” as they rahm a rebirth of the Soviet Union down our throats?
Sorry, Mr. Congressman.
You do not point a finger at your constituents and chastise them that way.
They’re your boss.
Hopefully, you’ll learn that lesson the hard way in the next election.
This is exactly what the people at these meetings need to do.
They need to inform these A$$hats that if there ‘representative’ doesn’t listen to the ‘people’, then they’re OUT!
I would make it clear as day and tell them straight out that I, and others of the district, will be working very hard for their ‘opponent’ come next election.
You need to get these officials thinking and worrying about their future in politics.
Bottom line: Don't expect to "hijack" the United States Constitution as so many of these buzzards have done, and expect the People not to get very riled up and come looking for those public servants to hold them accountable, big time.
I'd say, the dude better cut his losses why he can and show some repentence and deliver some well needed apologies and a revised voting record--and demonstrating an attitude of understanding precisely who his bosses are. We won't back down. We won't have ANY OF IT.
Oh, they complain and whine now, but this is just beginning.
***Let’s hope you’re right. Democracy in action.
“Theyre your boss.”
Congressman Scott is the son of a minister and is a man of strong faith and conviction.
He learned at his Daddy’s knee. Black preachers are always the boss, he just forgets that he’s not a preacher. Black preachers are some of the most corrupt individuals we have in this country.
He is the definition of a vindictive black man.
His performance is a disgrace to the congress and to an America that would elect such a racist.
Have you noticed all these townhall meetings are turning into a repeat of the health care bill fiasco from 1993-1994? What a bunch of maroons in Congress, as Bugs Bunny is wont to say....
