It has been more than a week now since you wrote a memo to your entire editorial team explaining that the Obama birth certificate story was "dead" because Hawaii had destroyed all original, long-form, hospital-generated documents.
In fact, it has been a week since the state of Hawaii repudiated your baseless assertion.
Isn't it time to apologize for your error and to Lou Dobbs for attempting to intimidate him for covering the story?
And since your basis for not covering the story has been blown to smithereens, isn't it time for you to issue a new edict to your news team to get back on the story?
What am I missing?
Perhaps you were just looking for an excuse not to cover the story in the first place?
Your network is going to be left in the dust on one of the biggest stories in the history of the country. But I don't suppose that matters to you. My guess is that you are one of those media executives who puts politics ahead of news. That's what I surmise of your network's coverage of this story as well as many others.
Your original position, which I can only assume you have modified after being proven wrong, was laughable even if your facts were correct.
I don't know if you're old enough to remember Watergate.
I was trying to imagine Ben Bradlee or Katherine Graham calling off the Washington Post's Watergate investigation because an 18-and-a-half-minute gap had been discovered in a critical White House recording.

What ever happened to a journalists curiosity. Even if Hawaii had destroyed the original documents, wouldn't that make someone ask why they did such a thing.
This whole Obama hiding his birth certificate affair should get some enterprising journalist a book deal and a Pulitzer.
The SRM had a plan. They could not ignore it, so they coordinated with A**holerod to attack the ‘birthers’ nonstop for weeks, then say “see, they are nuts, nothing to the story”. They even threw in a false BC or two.
Does it not seem odd that the SRM, once they ‘found out’ that the Kenyan BC’s were (allegedly) fake, how they have ZERO interest in getting to the bottom of, or the timing of such chicanery.
But when it was Orly Taitz, who fell for the (alleged) fake and asked to enter it into the court record for discovery - why it was hellfire and brimstone and scorn and outrage heaped on the “nutty Russian attorney” by the MSM.
Gots me. Maybe a marketing ploy?

My first take on Orly Taitz filing the alleged Kenyan birth certificate in federal court was “My God, what are you thinking!”
However, I'm not a lawyer.
Now I'm wondering if she had a profoundly malicious motive.
Is it possible that the person or people who manufactured this fraud now face serious legal jeopardy BECAUSE Taitz filed it in her case?
I mean, the case is well known, Taitz is well known, the issues are well known.
Is it possible the Perp(s) could be charged with manufacturing evidence, obstruction of justice, or contempt of court?
You would think the whole plan was to have a climactic national TV appearance where the Perps laugh themselves sick at the Birthers.
But that hasn't happened.
And each day that goes by, the fake Kenyan BC story loses a little punch, and gets a little less publicity.
He should also kick him in the nards ;-)
