Remember the good old days, when one only had to watch out for the Federal Governments twisted interpretation of the commerce clause to justify tyranny?
Well those days seem to be long gone. The Obama Administration has been employing an old tactic lately what some might call an imperial threat and theyre not doing it overseas, either.
The state of Oklahoma is now the target of a direct challenge from US Attorney General Eric Holder, who is using the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as justification to violate Oklahomas sovereignty as affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the US Constitution.
In a letter written to the State Attorney General in April, the Federal government used aggressive language, bringing up the possibility of withholding Federal funds appropriated for Oklahoma. The reason? A proposed amendment to the State Constitution, which requires voter approval, that would make English the official language of the State.
What it indicates is the Federal Governments contempt for the states, in this case Oklahoma, and for the idea of federal as opposed to national government. AG Holder believes that Oklahoma is an administrative subdivision of the USA, and that it is perfectly right for him to coerce Oklahomans to do his will. Who cares whether he has ever been to Oklahoma, met an Oklahoman, or thought about Oklahoma? said Kevin Gutzman, an American historian and bestselling author.
DESTROYING LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Both of these letters, particularly this letter to the Attorney General of Oklahoma, are very officious, observed Rob Natelson, professor of law at the University of Montana. It reminds one eerily of the kinds of communications that started to come out from the Emperor to the local cities of the Roman Empire, beginning the course of the ultimate destruction of local government.

I am actually in Norman south of OKC. I happened to be up in Tulsa today. It is about two hours from where I live up the Turnpike which I love as you can go 75 mph and not all that much traffic usually.
P.S. They can add me to the enemies list.

I’ve proudly joined you.
Some folks just need to lighten up.
Yes — it is Edmondson is running for AG. Only time he has a backbone is when he is fighting for DemocRAT causes. He doesn’t stand a prayer against Mary Fallin. Never been able to figure out why we couldn’t put up a really good candidate to kick him out of office.
My season tickets arrived this week — ready for football.
I live on the East side of Norman north of Highway 9 about two miles. I know Blanchard well — used to go through there on the way to Lawton before they completed Highway 9 over to I-44 South. I am up in Tulsa about once a month. Love the Pike Pass as I go sailing up I-44. Be nice when I-35 is fixed that goes through Norman — it is a mess right now. I-44 is about the only major road in OK that is a good road between OKC and Tulsa.
Oklahoma is in good company, they threatened Arizona last month because they took issue with Jon Kyl...
Highway construction??? Sheesh, lemme tell you about highway construction! Never, EVER go to Houston or Dallas unless you have been kidnapped by Islamic Fundamentalists and their holding one of those long curvy knives to your throat. On second thought, taking the knife might be better - whatever. Anyhow, construction in and around, at least those two places, is perpetual. New construction, or because there’s so much existing concrete, widening or repairing highways is something that never ends.
GREAT graphic!
Bump to quote...
Much obliged! ;^)

Go Sooners!
Could we pay the few liberals here to move to one of their promised land states? It shouldn’t cost much and will save us welfare dollars.
Coburn and Inhofe need to get busy.
Texas is all but lost to illegals, their spawn and their supporting relations.
I can’t drive through Katy without feeling I am in an upscale Nuevo Laredo or something.
You can almost always spot the illegals. They are the ones driving below the speed limit, fully stopping at every light and can hardly see over the steering wheel.
Texas could take a page from your book on cracking down on illegals. Good for you in OK and keep it up! Hopefully Texas will be right behind you on passing tougher immigration laws and right beside you on 10th amendment support!
LOVE that idea!
I’m a dislocated Texan in Phoenix....Illegals here are haulin ass outta here for a year thanks to Sherrif Joe
Also as has been said.....we Texan’s got Ok’s back when Ok is threatened......in normal times we fight like brothers
