A document unveiled by a California attorney in her quest to determine President Obama's place of birth has been condemned as a forgery by critics who deride as nonsense the challenges that have been raised to the president based on the U.S. Constitution's demand that the Oval Office occupant be a "natural born" citizen.
But those on the other side, who would like to see the original documentation of Obama's birth place revealed, say there are factors that indicate the Kenyan birth document could be real.
WND reported when the document was submitted to a California court by California attorney Orly Taitz, who has managed several of the high-profile cases challenging Obama's eligibility to be president.
Then yesterday, Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., raised the dispute to the floor of that august body, protesting in a speech added to the Congressional Record that the dispute was not worth one minute of time.

you can read the raised stamp on the Bonford doc. No way to make out what is on the Kenya doc. Paper on the Bonford doc looks like it was crushed and then straightened out. Folds don’t match. Emblem at top don’t match. 495 could be the number of a particular type of doc. i.e. registration of birth. The same numbers at the bottom refer to book & page. When I was researching family I looked at a lot of books at the court house. Events recorded in the books would sometimes cover as much as five years on the same page of the book. How many registrations of birth would have been sought from Kenya in 1964? If the Bonford is even the real deal.
I had not seen that post. My bad.
I have been off the puter and only checking in today.
Check this out. I just found it. Someone has SAID to prove the Aussie version to be fake because it contains photoshop elements.
it appears that the australian document is a fake. Starting at post 1390, by PA Engineer, in this thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2307402/posts?q=1&;page=1351
his daughter found that the australian document will break up into layers in photoshop elements. the layers are latter shown in post 1444.
in other words, the DU deceive and lie machine is running at full speed.
Also, the washington independent is part of a group of independent progressive bloggers and investigators that form the center for independent media, who claim to be an nonpartisan nonprofit organization. of course, if you start reading their material, you can decide for yourself, how nonpartisan they are.
Yeah, there is some strange stuff going on and the Washington Independent is clearly biased left.
I think the left realizes they are losing control of the story and their attcaks are getting meaner and crazier.
I am stealing this from another poster but he mentioned what Ghandi said:
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” — this saying by Mohandas K. Gandhi
I'm 90% to believing that this is going to be settled within a month or two.
Thanks for the laugh.
Hold the Presses! My daughter just showed me something.
She had me open both the Australian and Kenyan documents in Photoshop Elements. From there she had me under the Image menu Divide Scanned Photos. Nothing appeared on the Kenyan document, however six layers pealed away from the Australian one.
These layers all showed distortion.
You can go on and read the rest of the post there.
But then freeper "rudman" countered here (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2307402/posts?page=1903#1903) with information that that tool in Photoshop does NOT detect layers, it separates out pictures.
Divide Scanned Photos is for separating out multiple pictures on a scanned document. It will find seemingly natural borders and break them out to minimize the time needed for scanning.
Now do this - take your phone bill, scan it in, and do the same exercise. See what i mean? Any flat document with seemingly blockish borders will break out.
All I am saying is that the work done earlier on the thread with the signatures and the creases are much more telling than this.
Just a last thought - if the australian certificate is really authenticate - or not - that really has no bearing on the kenyan certificate. If that can be corroborated - then there it is.
So the "layers" in Photoshop idea has been debunked.
What we are left is a close look at the document to see if the letters and numbers appear to be placed ON TOP OF the folds in the document, and whether the signature at the bottom is over or under the printed title.
I'm not persuaded by that, but others are.

Is there such a thing as a State Department “Overseas Service”?
Good catches from a type afficionado. There is also the discretionary ligature for Number (”No.”) located at the top left of the page on the Kenyan BC. Completely different from the one on Bomford. That ligature is a feature you get with set type, or possibly with a modern Open Type font if you know where to find it and turn on the alternates. It looks like the font for the numbers “495” is Century, but I can’t find a ligature or alternate that matches the “No.” on the Kenyan BC in the OTF catalog. (That doesn’t mean that there’s not one, I just haven’t located it.)
Do you know anyone born in South Australia around 1958-1960?
Their own birth registration should be close in terms of numbering to the Bomford book and page registrations.
For example, if someone born in 1958 was registered in, say, Book 44A, that would support the numbering system in the Bomford certificate.
As posted on the other thread, I wonder what would happen if a BC that the DUmmies had only dreamed of were to just pop up as if hiding in plain sight for years. I would be fun for sure. Would they have people waiting to check it out?
Someone posted this on FR earlier today, make your own Kenyan BC template -notice the DU in the url
http://upload.democraticunderground.com/img/09/bc_template.pdf
"Ive found lists of participants at 2 international conferences, one hosted by the UN, in which a Richard Bomford attended with a Richard Bamford email address, as someone working for the Aussie Governent, Regional Unit for the Environment, in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
Richard Bomford is listed as the domain holder for Bomford.net where this David Jeffrey Bomford Certification of Registration was found.
The problem is that Richard Bamford was just involved in a massive fraud case adjudicated in Australia on July 10th of this year. Bamford seems to go by the name Bomford.
Also GIM International lists Richard Bomford as a GIS expert. It is my understanding that GIS information experts have software to produce maps and edit images of such quality, that forging a BC would be childs play.
So the Bomford could be the fake; as its provenance is in doubt."
Maybe the Austrailian bc's are similar to Kenya's - they were both British at one point so no surprise there. I don't know for sure which one is authentic and which one is forged, only a document analyst can figure that one out. But I do know Bamford or Bomford has been involved in fraud and that's enough for me to look with a skeptical eye and much suspicion on ANYTHING found on his website.
Oh fudge... I meant to say the ligature was on the Bomford BC, not the Kenyan. Sheesh. Just reverse everything I said.
1. Bush ANG records -- It took CBS months to admit that they *might* be forgeries, and Dan Rather and Mary Mapes still won't admit to it.
2. Documents that Saddam Hussein tried to buy yellowcake uranium from Niger -- These documents were immediately alleged to be fraudulent, and the charges were immediately accepted as true that the documents were frauds, and this was then used as the basis for discrediting the entire Bush Doctrine in Iraq over WMD's.
3. Obama birth documents -- they immediately discredited as frauds, and additional fraudulent documents then flood the internet so as to confuse the issue.

See post #71 and #77.
WND said they had compared actual Kenyan BC’s, they need to produce those now, before they open their mouths on anything else.
