BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. -- Several people were reported shot at the LA Fitness gym in Bridgeville, emergency officials confirmed for WTAE Channel 4 Action News.
The reports came in shortly after 8:15 p.m. that authorities were called to the gym at the Great Southern Shopping Center at 1155 Washington Pike. Emergency officials said as many as 15 people may have been involved, but their conditions were not immediately known.
Witnesses told WTAE Channel 4 Action News that the victims shot in the gym were in a class in the aerobics center at the time of the shooting.
Former WTAE Channel 4 Action News photographer Gary O'Data said at 9:10 p.m. that the entire shopping center was shut down. He reported seeing as many as 15 ambulances and at least 20 police cars.
Clerks at neighboring stores told WTAE Channel 4 Action News that they locked their doors as a precaution.

I haven’t seen 1 second on any network since I got home from work. I listened to KDKA to get any information.
Useless, indeed.....
Renee Kominski saying the instructor, Mary, had announced this was her last class; she was only several months along. Renne saying she is not privvy to victims conditions. NO updates on her condition.
I am praying for Mary and her baby right now.
They’ve been through this a lot. But they do like to jump at the chance to be ‘the first’ to report something. Darieth and WPXI jumped on the Mary story.
Wpxi wrapping it up now also.
Heaven help us...straight to Conan OBrian.
Going to try to get some sleep, but too stunned to rest.
Not so good nite here in our town, FRiend.
All we can do is hope for the best for those in hospital, and for everyone involved...
Oh, and a pat on the back to the lady who is a family member of the two cousins who were shot. She made a point of telling the media that this is not about gun rights. She’s for gun rights. Dittos to her.
No. God’s peace to you, PA Mom. Have a sweet sleep.
This place is just a mile or two from where I live. LA Fitness sent me a brochure when I moved in to my current apt. in May. Bet it will be shut down now— it’s only been there for a year.
The place ‘looked’ familiar to me. Haven’t been there in years. Since before the fire I suppose.
If they do stay open they’re going to have to show some security presence to make people comfortable. And I could not believe that the only way to get off the second floor was one staircase down. That guy could have killed a LOT more people with that set up. No fire exits up there? Not good.
I could never understand people who thought lightning was going to strike twice in the same place. But you’re right, they probably won’t go back.

Paper laws have never stopped crime. Gun bans in countries that passed such BS laws are the most dangerous places on earth. Felt safer in war zones than I did walking on streets of our own nations capitol.
Gun ban passed will make me a criminal. Criminals get a pass or elected as POTUS. Girl Friday is looking for a good china pattern sometime soon
Good thing Eaker wasn’t there he keeps a .38 in his leg warmers ......
No CW was killed by an Austin Cop that later was made a Texas Ranger...met the Ranger during GHW Bush campaign many times.
..... Good guy.
I just woke up to see this online. What a shocker—it’s only a few miles from where I live. I go to this shopping center all the time.
Prayers for everyone involved. Horrible tragedy.
Rule one: Never allow a crisis to go to waste,
looks like Mary wasn’t one of the deceased after all?
I watched that live on TV as it was happening. There were puffs of cement dust popping out all over the observation deck area as the locals blazed away at him with their hunting rifles.
In the movie "The Deadly Tower" John Forsythe plays a police lieutenant responding to the scene and taking charge. When the locals start shooting back he starts bitching and moaning about all the crazies bringing out their guns and shooting up the landscape and endangering everyone's lives. Hollywood couldn't pass up the chance to portray ALL gun owners as crazies, and couldn't bring themselves to give any credit to the locals for suppressing Whitman's sniping.
