I hope they rewarded those that showed our marines where he was buried. They did not have to do that.

I also hope bringing Capt. Speicher home will bring some peace to his family. I understand his children are now college student having never really getting to know their father.

I remember when that happened. Am relieved he’s finally been found and returned to his family. God bless him for his sacrifice.

I recall in the days after the conquest of Iraq, there was hope that Speicher would turn up in an Iraqi prison.

As usual the AP writes an important story in a lousy way.

Indeed, God speed Scott Speicher and may your family find peace. A hero of the highest order

I remember that speculation, as well...how hard it must have been for his family. Now they have closure...RIP, Captain.

Thanks for posting this. His family must be very relieved to know he has finally been found. God Bless this brave man, and the family he left behind. I know they always held out hope that he had been taken prisoner, but in a way it must be comforting to know how he died, and that he hadn’t been a victim of Saddam’s torture afterall.

RIP Capt. Speicher. Any navy guys out there who can answer a question? Is it odd for a captain to be a fighter pilot?
