Birth of a nation: Too many Americans buy crank theory on Obama's citizenship
New York Daily News ^ | Saturday, August 1st 2009

Posted on 08/01/2009 1:38:58 PM PDT by presidio9

There's Red America, Blue America and Tinfoil Helmet America. And it looks like the third camp is enormously larger than anyone feared.

A new poll, commissioned by the liberal Web site Daily Kos found that fully 11% of Americans think that Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States. And another 12% said that they are unsure.

The doubters are heavily concentrated in the Republican Party, according to pollsters. An amazing 58% of the surveyed Republicans questioned whether Obama, in fact, entered the world in Hawaii.

What this means: Millions of Americans suspect or are convinced that Obama, son of a Kenyan father, is not a citizen and thus cannot legitimately serve as President. And no Hawaiian birth certificate or newspaper announcement from the time will convince them otherwise.

Who are these people? They're the ones whose feet are not planted on U.S. soil - or any soil.

Just can’t take the whole TROLL thing anymore today!

I’m sure there are others on here that could use the entertainment though.

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, .. have seen the original vital records ...verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai‘i and is a natural-born American citizen.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Ok...So?...Which vital records? Were they records filed by Obama **himself**.

Also...NO “vital record” since the dawn of this nation has ever declared a person was “natural born”. “Natural born” does not exist on anyone's birth “vital record”. I would bet my entire 401k on that.

So?...Dr. Fukino is making a legal judgement as (what?),...a physician? Huh? Her **legal** opinion is no more valid than mine.

Sorry...Dr. Fukino is deliberately obfuscating.

If Dr. Fukino has said, “I examined the long form birth certificate. The long form certificate states Obama was born in Hawaii in the city of XXX. His father was XXX and his mother XXX.”, then that would mean something.

And Obama has sworn under oath that he *is* (as the Constitution says he must *be*).
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If he committed perjury, that oath would be invalid, and he would not be president. No oath, means not being president.

It is frustrating, but it seems unlikely that any citizen will have the standing to challenge Obama’s legitimacy.

It probably didn't occur to our Founding Fathers that anyone would perjure their way into the office of president. As I have posted previously, our system of government depends upon honest good will. If there is no honest good will, it will be impossible to write laws tight enough to corral evil.

I pray that repentance and revival will spread through the land. If it doesn't we will be slaves.

Well, this was from the State of Hawaii on their official website. This wasn’t posted on her home website... LOL...

And the State of Hawaii doesn’t live in a vacuum and they know exactly what the issue is in regards to the birth certificate. The State of Hawaii knows that this is a serious issue, something that when they make an announcement — that the *entire country* is going to take their word on the matter — as from the full weight and authority of the State.

They are the ones who received the original records, they are the ones who have kept it all these years, they are the *only one* who can issue an “certified birth certificate* from their own files, and if a judge were to order the originals, they are the *only one* who can supply it to a judge. That means that with the seriousness and the gravity of the situation, they would have every single word of that statement vetted by their lawyers and would find out every legal detail that was needed to know before saying one single word...

And after they went all through it with their lawyers, they would come up with the statement that would be accurate, precise and entirely correct...

So, when the State of Hawaii says the following... I would definitely believe them...

http://hawaii.gov/health/about/pr/2009/09-063.pdf

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Director of the Hawai‘i State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai‘i State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai‘i and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.”

This shows that there is no Constitutional issue or question. So, when there is no Constitutional issue at problem here with the Qualifications for office, why would the Supreme Court get involved? Which is why they didn’t get involved.

Laws are made if people abuse the system, to put it simply. It is understood by most that a Birth Certificate is the 'best' evidence of the circumstances of a persons birth. Being understood, all prior Presidents, when asked, did not hesitate to produce theirs.

But now, because of Obama, you're proposing we write a special law for a special person? Is there a law for me to show one for a pass port, marriage license? I know I must, but if some authority demands it, who am I to argue. I don't, and Obama shouldn't.<

If he doesn't, someone has to raise hell.

(3) State law that a candidate must show his birth certificate.

This is an excellent suggestion. If enough of these were passed, it would prevent Obama from running in 2012 and have the effect of turning him into a lame duck for the current term, unless he finally produces a birth certificate.

It happened with the 21st President of the United States, Chester A. Arthur — that he was not qualified per the Constitution to be President — so this is not the first time such a thing has happened. With Chester A. Arthur, Leo Donofrio has proved the case with him and so according to what he says, we know it.

With Obama, we have the authority of the State of Hawaii on the matter, saying that Obama was born there and that he is a natural-born American citizen. At this point in time, the only way anyone is going to find out any different than what we’ve got right now — is that someone will have to come up with some real solid evidence to the contrary...

The officials in Hawaii are deliberately obfuscating.

They could have been **very** plain. They could have stated that the long form birth certificate showed a Hawaiian birth and the names of the parents.

They didn’t. This “vital records” stuff is nothing but smoke.

That’s the idea... and I’ve been promoting it since right after the election...

These states have started on that process... Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Arizona...

Well..., then, the only way you are *ever* going to know that... is for that state law to pass...

I always seem to come right back to that state law as a *solution* to this whole thing...

I don’t know of a single President who has *ever* been *legally required* produced his birth certificate for us to see... when did that happen?

And just mentioning John McCain for an example, he never showed his birth certificate for the public. He did show it to one reporter and that guy wrote an article on it, and then McCain show it to a few Congressmen, but that was it. He never showed it to the public.

I suppose we could ask Obama to show it to one reporter and then to a few Congressmen and that should do it (just like McCain did).

But, even so, with that... it was voluntary and there was *never* any legal requirement for any candidate to show a birth certificate and I don’t know of any President who has ever done it (voluntarily to the public; although he might have shown it privately to a few officials... I imagine...)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

SO?...That makes it OK?

A physician has no legal authority to declare anyone a natural born citizen.

There is **far**far**far** more to natural born status than mere birth records. Obama may have been adopted by an Indonesian and held Indonesian citizenship. There are passports held as an adult. Repatriation records. Applying to college and accepting scholarship money as a foreign student. There is no possible way for Dr. Fukino ( A physician)to know anything at all about these matters, and it is silly in the extreme to for her to make any comment whatsoever about Obama’s natural born status.

And...NO WAY was “natural born” written on any of those vague and nebulous “vital records”.

Sure it did. They were well aware of scoundrels and trolls. The system they erected includes a Congress of multitudes, and much power resides there. As pertains to matters political, such as seating an executive leader for the country, there is an extreme concentration of power there.

The founders did not think that the body of Congress would be a unified traitor to the constitution.

If you read what I said, I said it happened before, so it’s not something that was *unknown*... and actually the public should have started working on the problem *back then* and solved it for us now... and we wouldn’t have had this present problem... but we do...

And then, you say (and other say and *dispute* it) that there is far more — but until I hear of the Supreme Court saying exactly what their decision is, I basically won’t know what they think it is...

And besides that, you may not even get the Supreme Court to decide on the issue. And I’ll guarantee you — that the US is not going to hold up a single Presidential Election, just to wait on the Supreme Court... If the Supreme Court wanted to address the issue — they had about four or five chances a few months ago... and they did nothing about it.

The issue I keep hearing is *this* — “I want to see the birth certificate.”

The state law that I’ve been proposing is *exactly* that solution....

It is a disgrace if 42% of Republicans and so many others don't think Obama should show his original birth certificate. These people are probably victims of the false propaganda from the press.
