The wishy washy "reaganism/conservatism" of P. Noonan began long ago before Obama.
Here is what she wrote about Reagan after the Reagan/Mondale Debate in 1984.
After this comment, as you know, The Gipper has been elected in the biggest landslide since George Washington ran unopposed in 1792.

Reagan was the best. PEggy Noonan is now a RINO. She is probably also a Manhattan Notre Dame Catholic. Wishy washy.

So the Peggy Noonan wing of the Rino party has been evah so wrong....the more she writes the more she is wrong. I actually think she is dumb as well as a tool.

How about the Al Gore Bush debate where Al Gore was made up to look like Reagan. It was very creepy - not as creepy as Obama but creepy.

Noonan is in love with her own prose and fancies herself a sophisticate in the know, but tool is more accurate.

Ole Peggy’s been a loon for years...and getting worse.

I'm sorry. Who are you again young lady?
I'm Peggy Noonan and I'm going to be a darling of the media some day.

Noonan talks - - and writes - - like she is balancing a plate on her head.
To: RobinMasters
Peggy Noonan has been infected by her liberal, wine and cheese, cafeteria Catholic friends. She is embarrassed by all those Southern rednecks that have joined HER GOP. If the GOP ever hopes to win another presidential election, it better not follow the advice of Noonan. It would be the quickest way to defeat.

I just love repeating this about Peggy. Our darling sophisticated Peggy hails from East Rutherford NJ and East Rutherford HS, in the days before Giant stadium when it truly contained pig farms.
Did Peggy matriculate in the Ivies, at one of the 7 Sisters, or even one of the classic Jesuit Catholic Universiteies. No! Paggy went to Fairleigh Dickinson in Madison or Teaneck or Rutherford. Not wishing to insult any graduates here on FR who made good use of the school and do not affect any faux sophisticated bearing, I won't note FDU's universal nickname which was immortalized in Eddie and the Cruisers. But I'm sure Peggy cringes when she hears it

"After this comment, as you know, The Gipper has been elected in the biggest landslide since George Washington ran unopposed in 1792." Perhaps I'm the only one here actually old enough to remember that debate, well. Reagan wasn't at his best in the first debate, and Mondale wasn't horrible (as had been expected). So, Noonan is correct insomuch as that first debate breathed a little life into Mondale's campaign.
But, then reality caught up to expectation. Reagan was classic, unstoppable Reagan in the second debate and Mondale was, well Mondale. That was the ballgame.

I watched that 1984 debate, and I agree with Peggy Noonan’s analysis.
Every Conservative I knew was at least a little bit rattled by Reagan's performance.
On the other hand, 1984 was probably the last time any Conservative agreed with Peggy Noonan about anything.
To: RobinMasters
Lotsa folks loved Reagan.
Just remember, Noonan is no conservative.

Try it again and it will be clear that that's your goal, so maybe you'd better drop the coyness.

It is unfortunate, but many people with artistic gifts tend to be a bit unstable.
They also tend to be a bit envious and prideful, a bit more than average.
Noonan does not like it that she is no longer a spokesperson for anyone important, and Noonan does not like it that nobody important pays much attention to what she says -— unless, of course, Noonan picks on a Republican—
Which then, in typical John McCain fashion, gets attention for Noonan!

Peggy was an incredible speech writer. Some of Reagan's best moments were with speeches she was a part of.
Reagan had the gift of surrounding himself with good people, and having those people make him better at what he did.
That is a skill that not many people have; and Reagan was never given proper credit for this ability. In my opinion..

Ok, so what is this nick name? I live in NJ and I don't even know about this.
To: Frantzie
peggy is a lying wh0re for the left... and I was alive and active in helping Reagan win... and this bullsh!t never went down like peggy claims... and certainly not like peggy goes down on the left.
