Not to endorse what he did, but corruption in small towns can be very frustrating. Being in with the in crowd can definitely lead to financial rewards.

And one more thing ...what he paid for HIS property is of no consequence to anyone who might want to buy it. It is HIS property and he, just like you or anyone else, is entitled to put whatever price he may want to on it whether it makes sense or not.
The “good” city fathers and the concrete plant attempted to extort the man out of his property. They got less than they deserved in my book.
I also believe the dozer in question was a Cat.

This is proof positive that crooked and dishonest politicians need to understand, that sometimes vengeance can be swift and sure for ones criminal and just plain wrong actions against those you swore to serve and protect. Kudos to Mr. Heemeyer for his actions at attempting to extract some justice for himself. More dishonest public servants should suffer similar or even harsher fates.
