Huffington Post : The only thing weirder than the Birthers are the anti-Birthers
God Like Productions ^ | July 31, 2009 | Mark Joseph

Posted on 07/31/2009 8:10:17 AM PDT by RobinMasters

The only thing weirder than the Birthers are the anti-Birthers, who blame the Birthers for being conspiracy theorists yet actively feed the conspiracy by refusing to call for President Obama to release his birth certificate.

The state official in Hawaii who manages such things has reiterated that there is indeed an original birth certificate on file which would confirm President Obama's having been born in Hawaii and that she has seen it, but state law won't allow her to release it unless the president authorizes it.

So what's the problem here? Release the original and let's be done with this madness.

I realize there are some faith-based Obama supporters who believe without seeing, but the rest of us in the reality-based world are starting to get that strange feeling we got when Mark Sanford tried to convince us that he was away from his family on Father's Day, hiking the Appalachian trail in order to clear his head and write a book.

During the last campaign, John McCain faced similar questions and promptly responded by releasing his original birth certificate. That's how normal people with nothing to hide handle these things.

As stated, it's a simple thing to put to rest. I have a passport and a birth certificate. I can produce them at my house in a matter of minutes. I have not spent a million dollars to either acquire them...or to hide them.

This is not a unreasonable thing to ask for since being a "natural born citizen" of the US is a constitutional requirement for the job of President. It's not hateful, and it's not racist.

Proving that you are should be an honor.

Yet Obama cannot and will not produce either. Why?

Yes -— what is the problem here?

I prefer the term “after-birthers.” I suggest we all start calling them that from now on.

Ha! I used the term anti- birthers this morning on FR! 6:17:38 AM http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2305060/posts?page=164#164

Will “after- birthers” be far behind?

If I was running for President where that particular fact is a requiremnt of the job, I would proudly produce it at the start of the campaign.

If I interview for a job requiring particular college course work, I bring my transcript with me.

Pretty straight forward stuff.

Well, that answered my question. While composing my post, “after-birthers” appeared...

I ask: WHO ARE THE IDIOTS? Those thinking “something is not right”? or those who put their faith in a guy who has spent 1 MILLION DOLLARS hiding NOTHING?

Wow. Read the comments at HuffPo.

They are overwhelmingly in favor of showing the long form.

Most are of the midset “just show it and get it over with” and only a few HuffPosers don’t understand that the short form is not proof of anything.

If HuffPosers are of this mindset, then this thing has got major legs.

There are a lot of very interesting posts at HP on the subject. Superficially from this thread on HP, it looks like Democrats are getting fed up with the fact that if it has been legally confirmed that the long form BC on file says Obama was born in Hawaii, why doesn’t he just release it and be done with it. It doesn’t help that in his book Obama claims he has the long form BC as a book mark but instead releases the COLB to the media. It is hard to beleive that there isn’t something VERY embarassing on the long form BC.

But here’s the most interesting post by a possible HP troll:

“I am sick to death of reading that the so-called “birther” movement is a “right wing nut job” conspiracy. Once and for all, the question of Obama’s eligibility was started by disaffected DEMOCRATS!!! I know because I am one! I was part of Phil Berg’s original group that first brought the question to light. In fact, several of my friends were delegates to last year’s convention and even took the issue to party leaders, who chose to ignore it. Blame away all you want, folks, but this is a “family” affair.”

Did George Bush or Bill Clinton or any other President have to show a birth certificate?

As for the job interview, the hiring entity may or may not require proof of course completion or certification. It is not required to show proof.

hit enter before I was ready. Let me complete last thought.

There is no requirement to show proof of birth to run for President even though it is the law.

Thanks for the post and the Huffington link. This issue is getting real traction beyond FR. Just read the comments at the Huffington Post. Lots of the Huffers are beginning to tick to this issue too.

Wrong! The wording in the second statement never mentioned a BC...the wording was "Vital Records." Opens many, many other doors.
