The MSM can spew all the "happy talk" it wants BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE IT SO.

Step 1 -- Receive economic News
Step 2 -- Declare the results "better than expected"
Step 3 -- Revise the figures, as more accurate numbers become evailable
Step 4 -- Gaze in horror at the economic news which is even worse than originally feared
Step 5 -- Smile for the cameras and declare "green shoots"

There are plenty of "Don't Worry. Be Happy." Freepers who will be glad to decry the so-called "gloom and doomers". Evidence means little to them. Unemployment means nothing to them as long as they are employed. But, when they lose their jobs, THEN it's a catastrophe.

If this is what Obamanomics is doing for the country, he better stop worrying about getting everybody health care and start worrying about getting everybody bread.

Sorry, Obama. You demanded that the stimulus get passed right away, and guaranteed us it would stop the free-fall, that unemployment wouldn't drop below 8%, and it would "save or create" millions of jobs.

This is your economy now, ZerO. You claimed it the moment you started messing with things to try to make it better.

No surprise here. After all, for the last six years or so we’ve been told that we had “....the worst economy since Herbert Hoover.”

A Recession is when your neighbor loses his job.

A Depression is when you lose your job.

A Recovery is when Obama loses his job!

I just ordered more seeds this week and I was searching for a dry canner on the net because pinto beans are going to be harvested soon in this area. They are too expensive but I found that you can just use mylar bags for dry storage.

I just wrote my supposed ex-businessman congressman who evidently forgot all his business principals when he became a congressman.

Actually it is Bush’s fault. The article says that the GDP declined twice as much as previously reported from 4th quarter 2007 to 4th quarter 2008. That period was on Bush’s watch.

The beauty of it, from Obama’s point of view, is that he has even more evidence upon which to base his claim that he inherited a bad economy. And let’s face it, this claim is true. Let’s not deny the obvious.

However, his Porkulus, the Cap & Trade (Tax), Health Care Reform, intervention in the housing market, foreign policy blunders, inability to keep Biden muzzled and in a strait-jacket all happened on his watch and are keeping the economy from recovering.

“..THEN it’s a catastrophe.”

While I agree with your overall sentiments, losing my job may turn out OK for me. Years ago, I dropped out of college. To make a long story short, I wound up with a wife, children and a mortgage. (No regrets - they are the best Blessing God has given me.) I got a letter the other day stating if I want to go to school, I could keep drawing my unemployment and their was funding to pay for tuition - thanks to the stimulus. I was against the stimulus, but if they are going to throw money away, my view is I might as well take advantage of it. I had always wanted to go back, but with putting my wife and children through college, it had kind of got put on the back burner. Also, it is hard to walk away from a job where you are making good money. I’ll be pretty long in the tooth when I graduate (50). Dr., I see your point and I don’t disagree. But sometimes when life gives you lemons, you wind up with lemonade.-—JM

It was Frank, Ried and the Democratic Congress that FORCED banks to make home loans to people they knew darn good and well couldn’t pay it back all in the name of “affordable housing”. The groundwork of this poor economy was laid in November 2006

According to the article, the economy has lost 9.3%. Think about it, if you had to give up 9.3% of your paycheck after having recently borrowed oodles of money to give to your rich friends.

Good job with that list. But look at the stock market, everyone is getting suckered again into believing all is swell in hopey-changey land./sarc off/

The talking heads come on CNBC and tell us all is okay, look! the market is up again.. On what? Very light volume? Could it be false optimism, False rally? When is the reckoning? October again?
