Well, not that Isaac Hayes, who died last year. Rep. Jackson's Republican challenger could have some fun with campaign slogans invoking his more famous namesake.
Tired of getting the Shaft from Washington? Vote for Isaac Hayes. Or: Isaac Hayes -- finally, a Chef who won't spoil the broth. And maybe even: Vote for hot buttered soul.

Mr. Hayes is a Republican, which makes him a very long shot, writes Greg Hinz in his namesake blog appearing in today's Chicago Business. Hayes plans to make an issue of references to Mr. Jackson as "Senate Candidate 5" in the indictment of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, writes Hinz.
Probably a good man who actually tries to help people with his ministry in IL. Contrast that with O, jackson and their thug pals who pocket money from slum lords & the feds that allow people to live in miserable conditions in slum apts. Not to mention insane taxes, rampant violent crime and incredible political corruption.
It’s the Chicago way.

I like his blog. A black man who doesn’t seem to blame whitey for all his problems. God bless him but he wont win in Chicago..then again, the national polls have already tilted to the conservatives.
I hope he beats Jackson Jr by a lot. If it was the dead Isaac Hayes running, I wouldn’t be shocked as the dead have been voting in Chicago for years so why not run for office since the dead already vote?
I hope he picks the Theme from Shaft as his theme song, instead of Isaac Hayes’s biggest hit song of the 1990s (from South Park):
