Does White House Plant ALL Questions? (Not Just Gates')
World Net Daily ^ | 7-28-09 | Aaron Klein

Posted on 07/28/2009 5:20:20 AM PDT by paul in cape

Although the reporter involved denies she coordinated with the White House, speculation abounds over the genesis of the press conference inquiry last week by Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times, whose question about Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. prompted a national race scandal involving President Obama.

Aaron Klein postulates that Obama knew the Gates question was coming. But if you look at the Press Conference, Obama constantly looks down at a list to see who the next questioner is.

Since when has the President started doing this. Presidents Bush, Clinton and Reagan all looked around the room and pointed to people and, sure, they'd pick out favorites. In fact, for years Helen Thomas would get the first question.

Maybe in the future the TOTUS can bath ask and answer the questions, and Obama can stay in the back and apologize to a pack of Marlboros,

When the nomination for Sotomoyer was released Hannity had a audio of the press comments.

EVERY singly source used the same words “life experience”. There musta been 10-15 different people all using the same words. Didn’t seem to matter where they worked, they all used the same words.

I don’t think there is any doubt. They script everything in public and twist arms in private. We have banks, car manufacturers, doctor associations, health care companies, energy companies, and basically all other large businesses silenced for a ‘seat at the table’ as the Obama clan nationalizes each industry.

This is a dark chapter of American history. It is nothing short of a fascist takeover.

Thanks for posting.

I thought Clinton was the master of the staged event. There’s NOTHING that Barry does that isn’t staged, but I believe the reasoning is slightly different: Clinton could think on his feet, Barry cannot. I’d bet a six pack (pun intended) that Barry is still a little shocked that he actually won the election.

Gibbs admitted that they had prepared for the possibility of a question concerning Gates, among other possible questions.

If Obama is prepared for certain questions, then why does it take him 20 minutes of rambling with non-answers for each question he gets?

Typical three card monte dealer's mode of operation....they keep talking to distract you while moving the cards around.

This guy is nothing but a three card monte dealer in an Armani suit (apology to the Armani people).

Evidently even the planted questions are pretty risky for the Obama regime...

If Barry was prepared for the Gates question, his crafted response and use of the word "stupidly" was very poor. If he was not prepared for the question, his response and use of the word "stupidly" towards the police was very telling.

I don't think he should have even responded to the question, he's the POTUS, not president of Massachusetts, it's not presidential business.

I think the “tell” is when Zero does not stammer with a lot of aha’s while answering a question, that and looking at the list of who to call on.

Why would the rest of the press corps show up is what I keep asking myself.

I, for one, am having a senior crisis over all of the 'gate(s)' that we now and have had. Ever since 'Watergate', the media has reflexively attached a '-gate' suffix to almost every scandal. Now with a lead character named 'Gates' in the Cambridge folderol, we encounter the very infelicitous use of 'Gates-gate'.

Additionally, we also have a Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, who pops into the news-stream on occasion. Personally, I find this annoying in that I have a beloved uncle of that name and that adds another level of confusion to the mix.

Is it possible, or is it too engrained into the common psyche, to stop using the '-gate(s)' suffix 36 years after Nixon resigned for trying to cover up a 3rd-rate political burglary?

A good way to view this is by keeping the MSM’s first rule of self-promotion in mind: all reporters want to be journalists, and all journalists want to be celebrities.

With that in mind, it’s easier to understand what an Obama Press Conference is really about: the Journos pretend to ask thoughtful questions; The One pretends to be surprised and pleased by their thoughtfulness, and then He pretends to answer. In the process, the Journos get to be on national television — an essential ingredient to becoming a celebrity. Success!!

Lynn Sweet is hopelessly Liberal, but she’s independent. It is unlikely that she would be Obama’s stenographer.

Journalists have now joined lawyers, community organizers, education administrators, prison guards, bureaucrats and government employees as the lowest form of life. In reading two books, a biography of the Alsop brothers, and an autobiography of Novak, “the Prince of Darkness”, one could visualize that in the old days politicians of all stripes were scum while journalists where (despite their many sins) a cut above. No longer!

The obots in the WH press corpse aren’t going to ax him any tough questions anyway. Scripting isn’t necessary.

Pray for America

What a well rehearsed boring performance this “press conference” was. No follow up questions, not points of clarification!

He is lobbed a soft querry that he sometimes bothers to address than takes off with a portion of his preprepared lecture.

And they think we have not clued in? What irritates me most is that this scenario has been repeated since he first announced his campaign for the presidency.

Thank God for Joe the Plumber that nailed him on redistribution of wealth!
