But these aren't the audio tapes taken during the arrest are they?
I doubt those tapes will ever be heard...

What I want to hear is the recording of the open mic.
Once folks hear exchange between the officer and Gates, I think things will come into focus for all but the brain dead.

The long-awaited 911 tape and audio of the controversial July 16 arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. are being made public for the first time today, Cambridge officals just announced. That would indicate all the recordings are to be released, not just the 911 tape as some seem to think.

This women essentially had to argue with the dispatcher! The dispatcher was kind of an arrogant wanker, imo. "What do the suitcases have to do with it!?"
When seconds count, the cops are minutes away.

Wonder what the ratio of these two type incidents would be:
1. Innocent blacks unfairly profiled by the police.
2. Guilty blacks claiming unfair profiling by police to disguise their guilt.

That tape gives a good indication as to why a person needs to be able to defend their home themselves. The dispatcher is very concerned why the woman mention two suit cases. How much time did he piss away going back over nit picking crap instead of reacting to a person reporting two guys breaking a door open?
As it is said, the police are good at writing up the report after the incident but seldom will arrive in time to do much of anything about the problem.

The house is not owned by Gates
I wonder if the 911 operator had access to the same database as I just found? Or, when the 911 operator pulled their own internal record that the phone itself at the "Gate's" house showed as being owned by Harvard too? Either way it may have been impossible for the 911 operator or the police dispatcher to know who was supposed to be in the house because it is owned by Harvard, NOT Gates. Maybe this is why the police called Harvard over to secure the house. They knew the house was owned by Harvard.

I think Asians and Native Americans should protest that the 911 dispatcher did not recognize their ethnicities as options.
