About that charity you run, Professor Gates

Dan Riehl
explores a charity headed by Professor "Skip" Gates which takes in a lot of money, pays out very little, mostly to his colleagues and assistants at Harvard, was late filing the necessary papers and lists as its office the house Gates rents from Harvard.
Perhaps as Ann Althouse suggested yesterday on her blog there was something in his home that Gates did not want the police to see.
Crowley says that Gates's "tone" was "peculiar." And I'm wondering why the question "Is there anybody in the home with you?" would have upset him so much. It could have been just that it was an invasion of his privacy, but think about this along with the fact that Gates didn't seem to want to report the damage to his door that made him need to force it open when he got home. Did Gates already somehow know who had broken the door while he was away, so that he wanted to protect that person? Was that person in the house, such that the question "Is there anybody in the home with you?" felt threatening to Gates?
Inkwell, the Gates charity is designed to help blacks trace their genealogy through their DNA. The stated purpose for Gates' trip to China which preceded this incident was to study Yoyo Ma's genealogy. Is Inkwell Gates' honeypot to pay for whatever trips he wants to make?
Does the president have yet another close associate with tax problems?

LOL. I had dinner with Kevin Bacon’s parents. And my cousins in Ireland are named O’Neill. I guess that makes me a relative of Skip Gates. Maybe I should apply for a foundation grant.

LOL, you think maybe?
Trying to get reparations for Yoyo Ma?
From WND"I met Barack when he arrived at Harvard Law School in fall of 1988. He was quiet and unassuming, but had an incredibly sharp mind and a thirst for knowledge," Ogletree said in an interview last year with Essence Magazine.
"Even then I saw his ability to quickly grasp the most complicated legal issues and sort them out in a clear, concise fashion," said Ogletree.
Ogletree explained Obama was a regular participant in an after-class activity the Harvard professor created called the Saturday School Program a series of workshops and meetings held Saturday mornings designed to expose minority students to issues in the study of law.
What I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there is a long history in this country of African Americans and Latinos being stopped
disproportionately," Obama said. "That's just a fact."
At no time did 0bama state that he was close friends with Gates.
And now we finally have someone who knew 0bama at Harvard speaking about it.
Maybe 0bama doesn't want anyone knowing how intimately he was involved with "radical black ideology" while in college, especially Harvard. And that's why he's held back his college transcripts. Well that AND the place of birth issue.

Sorry, your post is just wrong. When he made his “stupid” remark, Obama said he was a friend of Gates. And in one of “his” autobiographies, he said that when he got to Harvard, he sought out the Marxists and other radicals as friends.

This is getting weirder and weirder, AW. :-)To quote the late, great Irish-American memoirist Frank McCourt, "'Tis."
Next we'll find out that Gates is related to McCourt, and incensed at not being mentioned in his obituaries....

I agree, if his transcripts were released I believe we’d see a lot more of these type people surfacing.

This pretty much lays out the reason why Gates apparently wanted to be arrested, imo:
Scholar Says Arrest Will Lead Him To Explore Race in Criminal Justice
Something else I read that interested me was that Gates was apparently arrested five days before the news about it "broke" on Monday, and a "picture surfaced" of Gates in handcuffs on his front porch. Then, lo and behold, Gates' "good friend", the POTUS, takes a question at the end of his Wednesday evening "health reform" news conference and accuses the police of "acting stupidly". I wonder when the POTUS first heard that his good friend, Professor Gates, had been arrested.
Wouldn't ALL this fit nicely into a "racial profiling documentary" - especially after editing? Gates and the POTUS are talking a lot about "teachable moments". I hope the American people are learning the true lessons being taught by this "teachable moment" - not the one the POTUS and Professor Gates are attempting to spin for Gates to place into a documentary.

This one needs to be bumped until the MSM and FoxNews picks it up.
Would be nice to see journalists do a little research for a change.
I wonder if Harvard had locked this place up so he couldn't run the charity out of the house.
Harvard won't admit anything about one of their professors, but I wouldn't be surprised if something else is out there about Gates.
