Here's a little story that will illustrate that point involving Gates that I posted on July 18 — before this whole CopGates thing blew up:

I saw that same show, and came away with the impression that Gates was anti-America, and a racist. If I'm not mistaken, he presented genealogy backgrounds for several well-known blacks, not just Oprah, and during at least one of his conversations, he was very adamant in his belief that Lincoln was a racist. I remember being very surprised at his belief.

So if Obama is being likened to Lincoln, and Lincoln was a racist, how is it that Gates is friends with Obama?
