Crowley says that Gates's "tone" was "peculiar." And I'm wondering why the question "Is there anybody in the home with you?" would have upset him so much. It could have been just that it was an invasion of his privacy, but think about this along with the fact that Gates didn't seem to want to report the damage to his door that made him need to force it open when he got home. Did Gates already somehow know who had broken the door while he was away, so that he wanted to protect that person? Was that person in the house, such that the question "Is there anybody in the home with you?" felt threatening to Gates?
Also is this still good for Rush?

and this one for Glenn Beck

His staff did a lot of research on Acorn.
I’m sure we’ll get to hear the tapes eventually, but you’re right, it sure doesn’t match the police report of the incident.
It needs to be released before it “accidentally” gets erased.
Besides Gates has already committed his story on Oprah's radio show. The link is posted above for anyone who wants to download it before it disappears.

In simpler times, blacks were led to lionize Lincoln for emancipation, without the additional subtleties of evidence that he was still a man of his time. There's nothing wrong with Gates digging up this information. His taking it out on whites alive today who have no control over the past, or on a policeman doing his job, is a different matter.
I'm not so sure. I think it will be accidentally erased. The case was dropped against Gates already.
I got an automated message from Degou that he is retiring.
Degou, Superintendent David
Commander - Support Services Division
I'll try again with someone else.
Not sure what will happen, but the tapes have to be preserved in case of a lawsuit by Gates. Even Judicial Watch is involved in trying to get them released. I suspect at some point, they will be leaked to a friendly reporter from the Herald.
I don’t have the equipment to copy the material. Jim who can do this?
It needs to be released before it accidentally gets erased.

Even Gayle didn't sound convinced. And he admitted it was all about his grand stature in life -- how "everybody" knows him, how he "should" have been addressed.
No -- we should not geld the police, Skip. They need to take charge of a situation immediately when there might be a crime in progress.
Gates expressed no understanding of the policeman's point of view: he had no idea what he might be walking into, and might have been facing a drug deal or a gun if it had been an intruder.
I'm very unimpressed, to say the least, with this obvious fibbery. At no time did he tell Gayle about the "your mama" thing, which both officers put in their report; and the next day the black officer also affirmed the arrest.
It sounded like Gates called him Drifts or something like that and said he was from Morroco.
I want to know what he told the driver about breaking in.
It seems strange to me that Harvard would change the locks on him. Was he current with his rent?
Also, Oprah can pull her radio show’s interview.

Maybe THAT"S what he was saying to Crowley..."YOYO MA"! ANd Crowley thought he said "YOUR MOMMA"!
BINGO! Rahm has his house in a Charitable Trust so he doesn’t have to pay PROPERTY TAXES!!! Typical Democrat....wants to raise everyone else’s taxes while not paying their own!
So gates will write a book about his arrest and make a million out of it!1 Nice Gig he has.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. on O.J., Reconsidered
Worried about OJ supporters and Anita Hill, but not what Anita Hill and the libeerals in Congress did to Clarence Thomas. Clarence Thomas was truly a color blind man when he was head of the Civil Rights division and now on the Supreme Court.
I think Gayle thought something MORE had happened since there was NO explanation of him going off on the cop....she was a little taken back.
Yes. He’s wanting to “move on” now that he has had his say, and the POTUS, the Governor, and the Mayor, have all played their parts...and, before the Cambridge police decide to reveal what’s on the tape of this “racist” incident publicly. But, sometime in the future after all has quieted down, and facts forgotten, the “learned” professor will release his “contributions to the history of the African-American experience in America” including clips and quotes from his powerful and impressive friends and advocates, of course. The Oliver Stone of academy.
Maybe he’s a homo and had an 18 year-old kid in his bed or bent over a living room chair, depanted and panting.
