Who's to blame in sex assault of girl? Father says nobody

"PHOENIX - The President of Liberia is voicing her opinion on an Arizona story creating outrage around the world.

After an 8-year-old Phoenix girl was sexually assaulted by four boys last week, police said her parents blamed their daughter for the attack.

The parents also apparently said their daughter had brought shame on the family.

Those four boys are now under arrest, and the young victim is in Child Protective Services, away from her mom and dad.

The President of Liberia called into CNN on Friday morning, saying rape is a problem in Liberia as well as the United States.

"This is not a question of shame on a family.. it's a question of assault on a young child and that can not be tolerated," said President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

"I think that family is wrong," she added. "Clearly, [the boys] are doing something that's no longer acceptable in our society...We just want to make sure the parents take care of that child.. and to make sure she is put in a situation where she can be administered to, can be loved and cared.""

Apparently, neighbors that were interviewed said they often saw the little girl wandering around the neighborhood, looking for food, wearing ratty, torn clothing (and the same clothes for days) and looking disheveled and unkept.

Poor little girl. My heart just goes out to her and maybe, in all this terrible tragedy she went through, she’ll be placed with a loving family, and taken from the neglectful abusive parents she was with.

Okay. Now what kind of family might this be that would not blame the rapists that assaulted an 8 year old girl? Guesses anyone? Buehler? Buehler??

OK, someone help me out. Why is the President of Liberia commenting on an Arizona crime story? Is the victim or the alleged attackers from Liberia?

Never-mind, it’s in the story, although it’s buried near the end, that the boys (alleged attackers) parent is a visiting professor from Liberyia.

"Buehler? Buehler??"

Well, given that Liberyia is involved, there's a decent chance that Voodoo is as well, although I'm pretty sure it's not Voodoo economics.

The perp whose picture is shown is black.

The story says: “The father also said the family moved to the United States five years ago from West Africa and they don’t understand the United States’ criminal system.”

I think the odds are about a thousand to one that the rapists and the father in question are all Liberian Muslims. And the President of Liberia is weighing in because Liberia does not—yet—answer to Sharia Law.

The father and the rapists don’t understand the US criminal system because they are Muslims, and Muslims always blame the girl who was raped. Rape itself is OK, although it dishonors the victim’s family. After all, Mohammed did it, didn’t he? And told his followers to do it. So it must be OK.

A professor? Well then the police must have over-reacted. I don't understand all the controversy. With the health care crisis, global warming, and wars overseas, the police should have better things to do than to arrest little boys in their own neighborhoods.

Every Muslim in the world should be ashamed of the fact that most people who read this excerpt will automatically assume that the parents are Muslim. And will probably be correct.

They might be Muslim, but actually Liberia has a relatively small Muslim population. There's a sizable Christian population there (settled by ex-slaves after all), and there quite a few tribalist/pagan worshipers still.

True. . .but based upon the action of the father, I’d say it a darned near certainty it is the Death Cult that is involved here.

Why is the President of Liberia commenting on an Arizona crime story?

Because the prince of Nigeria is dead, his funds are tied up, and he can't comment.

Yes, they are all from Liberia, “resettled” here.

I want to know where the heck our immigration authorities are. This father needs a one way ticket back to Liberia, as does the girl’s 23 year old sister who was supposed to be watching her at the time, and gave a media interview saying how it was all the little girl’s fault. Who knows about the mother — maybe she’s afraid to say what she really thinks. Deport the father and the sicko adult sister, and then interview the mother. If she’s spouts the same crap, deport her too.

BOTH the victim of this attack and the perpetrators are from Liberia.

The fact that they blamed the victim (their own daughter), changes those odds quite a bit, doesn't it?

Yes, his words are fairly indicative of the Muslim mindset. Then again, the prevalence of rape (and it is an epidemic in even the most advanced of African countries, Time had piece earlier this year that quoted a stitistic that claimed 1-4 African men have admitted to raping women), crosses religious cultures. The African Christian men are guilt of it, and it's roots (forgive the expression) are actually found in the tribal culture that permeates the whole continent.

South Africa's Rape Crisis: 1 in 4 Men Say They've Done It

Granted, Liberia isn't South Africa, but the epidemic is continental as well as national.
