Sen. Lindsey Graham on Supporting Sotomayor ["diversity is good for the court"] [says "Obama won"]
CNN / Real Clear Politics ^ | 2009-07-22

GRAHAM: Well, the speeches she gave, I think, bugged a lot of people, not just me. The idea that "a wise Latina woman" more often than not, because of her experience and background, would reach a better conclusion than a white male is not something I think most Americans want to embrace.

I think Americans embrace the idea that diversity is good for the court.

But I looked at her record and I put the speech in perspective. She's lived an incredible life. She's been a judge for 17 years. There's no indication that her speech drove way she judged. And I based my decision on her qualifications and what a lot of nice people had to say about her. And, quite frankly, she's come a long way in life and worked very hard. And I think her time as a judge has been well within the mainstream. So I supported her.

(snip)

BLITZER: No one worked harder for John McCain than you did. As soon as I heard word earlier today that you were going to vote in favor of her confirmation, I -- I said to myself, I wonder what John McCain is going to do.

Do you know?

GRAHAM: I don't know. But he voted against her to begin with, when she went on the 2nd Circuit. And there's reasons to be concerned and troubled about her record. And I can understand someone feeling that they can't vote for her.

But here's what I tried to do. Elections matter to me. President Obama won.

Lindsey Graham is another clear example of WHY we need term limits.

Using his own logic/rationale, Lindsay Lapdog Grahamnasty might as well vote for Obama’s healthcare plan, cap-n-trade, stimulus II, III, IV, V, XVII, etc. .... afterall, the Kenyan won!

Yeah, Grahamnesty, someone with an “interesting life story”, who is a bigoted Quota Queen, who will legislate from the bench, and has (at best) a third-rate legal mind deserves to be on the court just because they were nominated by a President who won.

Brilliant.

Now go and lick McCain’s boots.

Every one of you living in his state better vote against this yellow-bellied surrender monkey. We won’t make any headway with this little weasel in office.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, lawyer, RINO, consumate wimp.

Doing the Democrats dirty work for them and screwing the people that vote for him since 1994.

this guy exemplifies the problem with “our” party. he started out a fighter and quickly became a limp wristed fluffer for the democrats.

He has no ideals, no convictions, and no spine.

Why can’t any of “our” guys have the bawls to fight dirty and get it done.

He says “Obama won” but this is one of the architects of the “gang of 14” strategy to deny Bush his appointees. He’s a slimebag. SC needs to get rid of this cretin.

He has no ideals, no convictions, and no spine.

It is the lack of the first two that leads to the absence of the last.

These Republicans politicians are so clueless. Should a Republican President nominate a Black Native American Transgender paraplegic who speaks only Spanish, but who happened to be a conservative pro-life originalist...

Well, we all know what would happen. He/she would be ripped to shreds by the inclusive Democrats and diversity would be damned. This is a battle to the death over ideas and our side won’t even get into the ring.

“It is the lack of the first two that leads to the absence of the last.”

One could make the argument that it’s the opposite.

She's lived an incredible life

Having an "incredible life" (supposedly) and "diversity" are criteria to be a Supreme Court Justice? This is pathetic.

The argument by the increasingly silly and irrelevant Lindsey Graham that she is no worse than Souter is akin to a doctor telling you that your lung cancer is cured – but you have leukemia. I heard Graham remark that “The President has a right to get the people he wants.” That “logic” says that if Obama WANTS to abolish an elected legislature for a politbureau of his fellow Chicago thugs – which he is in the process of doing with his “czars,” — you should simply roll over, move on and let him have it. Good grief!!

God save us from idiots like this one.

You folks in SC need to IMPEACH this RINO.

5+ more years of this and it may be too late to turn it around.
