Senate GOP leaders worry that some of their colleagues are misplaying their hand on health care reform by suggesting that they want to kill the plan in order to hurt the president. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said last week that, if Republicans are able to stop Barack Obama on health care, it will be his Waterloo, it will break him.

I was not aware the GOP had ANY leaders in the SENATE!!!

They're right. Sorta. ObamaCare deserves to be stopped because its hideously bad, not because Pres. Obama supports it.

I will certainly say it wouldn't have been my choice of words, but given the fact that DeMint and Talent (for the years Talent was there), fought hard and long, introduced bill after bill to try to draw the Congress into a debate of the failures of our health care system. Whenever Pubbies would try to wring the waste out of Medicare (and there's a truckload of that), they would be roundly denounced as trying to kill off granny. I understand his frustration (especially since then Senator Obama voted against DeMint’s health care reform).
It's hard to watch as this horrific piece of crap legislation is actually being debated and pushed after all the years of head banging DeMint, Talent and others similarly motivated underwent.

They all have to watch what the people want!
To: Joe Boucher
DeMint is the only one who goes after Obama every time!
The rest are semi-useless to absolutely useless.

Maybe instead of Waterloo he could have said Tours(Poitiers) or Vienna. That might be more appropriate for Obama.

Republicans came up with this idea, one of the great selling points (I thought) was the catastrophic portion that would cover a person who found himself in a situation where he needed expensive care, surgery, chemo, etc., but his personal bank account didn't cover it. In a way, wasn't that government health/emergency insurance? Anyhoo, you're correct, Dems shot down any and all efforts to correct the ills in the system time and time again, my contention is that first, they would not have received the credit and second, it didn't go far enough to garnering control over the lives of Americans.

Politico/CNN/Time/MSNBC/NBC/CBS/ABC...
Consider the source. They are now trying to scare Republicans into stop bashing Obama while there is blood in the water. The Republicans attacks are hurting Obamas poll numbers in a big way and they need to continue to put the pressure on! NO RETREAT!

They are elitists just like he is. They just want to control your life through different means than he does.

Hey GOP Senate. Either Lead, Follow, or Get The Hell out Of The Way. Try leading for once in your miserable liberal political careers. Stop acting like scared little puppy dogs that the Dems caught whizing on the carpet howboutit!

LOL, of course there are no names because the story is a fabrication intended to give pause to Republicans critical of the Obaamanation health care bill.
