The Standard counts no fewer than 53 Dems on record as having problems with the House bill, but so lopsided is the blue majority that the GOP would need to peel off 40 of them to block it. That’s not going to happen on Obama’s signature policy initiative. Assuming their objections are economic in nature, Pelosi will simply shower the fencesitters with legislative goodies until enough of them are willing to choke down ObamaCare.
But what if their objections are based on something more profound than economics?
Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak said he is “optimistic” that his campaign to include explicit language condemning the use of federal funds for abortion in the House health care bill will pass the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The congressman from Michigan did however say on today’s “Washington Unplugged” that the House will likley not vote on the bill before their July 31st deadline.

Are they really that arrogant to think that we don’t realize if they ban funds in bill “X” they will authorize and mandate funding in bill “Y”.

I don’t think all Dems are minions of Satan - naive, perhaps, but of course that’s what Satan loves. I’m glad at least some of them seem to be having a wake up call.
You kidding, the Dems think Pelosi that witch will take out the abortion provision, wanna bet. She will twist arms, most of them sold their soul anyways to be part of that evil party, they will cave, most of them are sunshine patriots on abortion anyways. It will fail, but not because of some principled stand by those spineless weenies.
Democrats literally hunger and thirst for the dead flesh of human babies. Pelosi will get the votes she needs if she has to start murdering opponents on the streets of DC.
This bill needs to be rejected for far more reasons than abortion otherwise a similar bill could appear in the future, or a series of smaller bills or amendments that will soften the abortion issue thereby still potentially allowing the government to control every aspect of our personal lives.
How will it fail then? Because I don’t think it will fail. I think these demons will push this through
The cost of the public option is a killer, that CBO report killed it. A linchpin to the whole thing. Why do you think the thug had the CBO guy up to the Whitehouse, I am sure Dummy knows he has been called into committee meetings for more personal grim reports on the cost of this monster.
If history is any lesson, when push comes to shove, most of these Dems will fall in line.
Focusing on abortion gives will let the lefties blame right wing Christian conservatives for the failure of enactment.

I don't see a problem here. I doubt many moderate democrats or independents want to pay for other peoples uncontrollable sex lives and resulting abortions. Even the thought of it is disgusting.
