What exactly are the basic facts surrounding this issue. I mean i think like most people it would be rather easy to produce a birth certificate and put this issue to rest. But many are saying that it is the loons on the right that are keeping this issue alive. I for one would love to see this document and then i would be satisfied. His website has taken down the "Fight The Smears" page and the photo of the certificate of live birth.

He's begun to claim he was born at a different hospital than was originally announced (and Snoope, UPI, Wikipedia, and others have revised the historical record without noting the retraction).

If the BIRTH CERTIFICATE had been released, the easiest way to end the lawsuits would be to introduce said document into court as evidence. "Here it is, it's been released ALREADY."

As they said back in Watergate days - “It’s not the crime, it’s the coverup”. If it turns out he’s not a Natural Born Citizen, it means he knew it and deliberately covered it up. Which means he lied to the American people, and committed perjury and I would argue, treason. He’s in a box and the only way out is to produce the BC. Gotta be keeping him up nights.

other documents which are needed to get at the whole story also remain under strict embargo: his college records, his student financial aid applications and documentation, and his passport records, to name a few.

These other docs may be more important than the birth certificate, IMO.
