Gut shots claimed Oklahoma City pharmacy robber (Mr. Ersland- OK)

The robber killed by a pharmacist in May died from gunshots to his body, not the shot to his head, the state chief medical examiner confirmed in the autopsy report.

Antwun Rayshaun Parker, 16, of Oklahoma City was knocked out after being shot in the head and would have survived that injury, Dr. Collie Trant told The Oklahoman.

Pharmacist Jerome Jay Ersland is charged with first-degree murder in a case that sparked a national debate. Prosecutors allege he went too far because he shot the robber five more times after knocking the robber unconscious with the shot to the head. Ersland said he acted in self-defense. He said in a nationally televised interview that he thought the robber was getting up.

The autopsy report released Tuesday describes the first wound as a "non-fatal gunshot entrance/graze wound to head.”

Trant explained the first shot involved a three-pellet shell.

Parker was shot five other times — to the chest and abdomen, the autopsy report shows.

Personally, I do not care how the punk died. Once you pull a gun a threaten someone, the law should not protect you. If it were up to me, I would create an "open season doctrine" whereby anyone who pulls a gun has just created an "anything goes" environment where the law will not protect them.

Kind of risky labor robbing drug stores. I guess he knew he might die when he tried to do this. I hope the pharmacist is vindicated and is released, I wish I was on the jury,.

I wish I was on the jury,.

As do I. Not only would he be exonerated, he would get a medal.

Charged with murder for taking out the trash?I dont care how many shots are fired to take this dirt bag out.I wonder how many times law enforcement would have shot him?

Were I on this man’s jury, I would make the dead punk’s family reimburse the pharmacist the cost of the bullets he had to use to protect his employees and himself from the threats to their lives.

A person in fear for their life will naturally empty the gun. It's actually a defense.

Something is wrong with the prosecutor.

If he is elected, I would say something is wrong with the voters.

Well let’s see here. Did they bother to do a drug screen on the thugs blood? Robbing a Pharmacy is sort of self explanitory.

The problem with this case is it puts an impossible burden upon anyone defending himself.

"How many shots is enough to end the threat?"

When faced with a deadly threat, only the defender can judge what must be done to end the threat and he must do so with lightning speed.

If a defender had run out of ammunition and stopped to reload and resumed firing after the perpetrator was obviously down from multiple gunshot wounds, there might be some argument.

Nothing that a good long jail term wouldn't fix, or at least "correct".

But then, that would require a JUSTICE system with more JUSTICE than exists in most jurisdictions these days.

Can the Doctor testify if the dead perp wouldhave continued his attack if he woke upbefore the police arrived? How long the perp would have been out?How about the sequence of shots? Were they minutes apart or nano seconds apart?
Bottomline is the Doc was not there and has NO IDEA what really happened what people were thinking feeling etc while the incident was occurring.
My take on the incident.1 scumbag dead 1 productive citizen still alive.

The point is to cover their asses. If they don’t drag the shooter to bankruptcy defending himself in court, they haven’t done their job

We live under a tyranny of lawyers, not a republic under the law.

We have a government of men, not of law

Double tap to their head should do it. Then the prossie can’t
say he could live to rob again. Considering the demographics, I’d say the pharmacist is toast. Hopefully not in OK.

If this pharmacist is convicted of murder, then the right of self defense will be null and void. Citizens will then have a right to be executed by any perp; for the “greater good” as a certain Supreme Court nominee might say.

No nothing “wrong” with him,its just fear.
When scumbags from certain groups are killed in this Country there is an Industry that tries to make political profit and sometimes monetary profit from it.

I've told my wife over and over again, keep shooting until he stops moving.

And at some point, this must change.
