Investigator: Palin May Have Violated Ethics Laws An independent investigator has found evidence that Gov. Sarah Palin may have violated ethics laws by accepting private donations to pay her legal debts.
"All options are open in terms of legal remedies. It is a clear violation of Alaska law that Mr. Daniel explicitly reviewed with Ms. Chatman prior to her illegal actions. We will be contacting the appropriate authorities for review and action."

More:
"The resolution of the Trust Fund is not final. I have been working with the investigator regarding supplemental information. The matter is still pending. Whatever you have seen was released in violation of law. There has been no Board finding of an ethics violation and there is a detailed legal process to follow before there is a final resolution."

I’ve always wondered about that.
It’s probably us.
More like Merde D’Oro.
LOL!
I don’t do the hope thing,I will be doing the help Thing.
I’ll freep whoever I feel crossed her. I don’t know where 2012 stands, but I do know where I want to be.
Well, Clinton's fund would have had Federal Law as the controlling legal authority, including regulations implemented by the FEC.
Palin, on the other hand, also has to worry about Alaska state law. Having said that, it's clear from the AK statutes I've seen, there are provisions for the establishment of legal defense funds. I doubt that there's anything of merit to this allegation.
I like it. If one files dubious law suits they are eventually labelled as a friviolous litigant. This means they either cannot file any more suits or they can only do so under very strict rules ( deposits of money and review by a sitting judge etc). Too bad the law in Alaska re: govt fraud and abuse didn’t contain the same provision
The fact is, the AK Department of Law reviewed the documents related to Alaska Fund Trust, and gave it their go ahead. This is just another load of crap. There is an “ethics” complaint pending regarding AFT that was filed soon after its creation. This is nothing new.
The report obtained by The Associated Press says Palin is securing unwarranted benefits and receiving improper gifts through the Alaska Fund Trust, set up by supporters. An investigator for the state Personnel Board says in his July 14 report that there is probable cause to believe Palin used or attempted to use her official position for personal gain because she authorized the creation of the trust as the "official" legal defense fund. The fund aims to help Palin pay off debts stemming from multiple ethics complaints against her, most of which have been dismissed. Palin says she owes more than $500,000 in legal fees.
A call seeking comment from her lawyer was not immediately returned.
She refused to take advantage of legal government assistance.
According to her Twitter, she's on the currently on the road and writing her last speech.
It's funny how these things suddenly pop up whenever she is in transit somewhere, or at the end of day, when she cannot immediately respond. Someone obviously tipped off AP and ADN, and I'm very curious to find out who this "independent investigator" is and his reasoning, since the whole point of a legal defense fund is to lawfully tackle legal expenses incurred while in public office.
This whole thing smells even worse than all the other frivolous complaints.
Thinking to myself: Which number is this? 23? 34? 59? I would be surprised if Palin hasn't lost count at this point.
These people need to be imprisoned and tortured without mercy . . . and I do not mean the Palin family.
And Sandy Berger stole and destroyed irreplaceable national security documents and got a slap on the wrist. But to the Dems, that wasn’t a problem.
In other news: An (alleged) independent investigator may have accepted money from democrat political sources, on behalf of President Obama, to institute another bogus complaint against Gov. Palin for political purposes only.
See how easy it is? :-))
Bill Clinton wasn't an elected official in Alaska.
Wow - a TeeVee station in Fl scooped all of the Alaska stations.....
AH, she opened the fund some time ago folks. THis is news?
Yeah, smacks of a hit job.
One investigator leaked that there “may” be probable cause to believe that the Fund Trust is in violation of Ethics Laws.
No finding has yet been made. If so, however, the Board would find that Sarah’s decision to leave the Governorship would not only have been necessary, but wise.
Best,
Chris
They’ll keep pushing until they get her on jaywalking.
