What part of the Constitution exactly is it that grants the authority to the Federal Government to mandate health insurance be purchased by individuals, and grants the authority to punish through fines if they do not?
Certainly not the Interstate Commerce clause.
What part of the Constitution matters at all to this administration?
It isn't the Constitution that we need to look to for answers:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,

I suspect that what they’re really concerned about is the fact that when the Federal government spends their money, they can’t use it to buy the votes they need to stay in office. I doubt it has to do with fiscal responsibility in any way.
The more the federal government consumes the less left to the states. Many of the states are already bankrupt. So things are only going to get worse, much worse.

Then there is the question of administration. The plan will be administered on a state by state basis. That means that you must go to a doctor or facility in your state for treatment.
The poor socialists in Southwest Virginia who depend on East Tennessee for doctors and specialists and hospitals will be out of luck. They will be forced to drive 150 miles to Roanoke for first class hospitalization.

I think it is nearing time to do just that.
We are looking at ways to re-structure and try to ride this out; but if the dems continue to destroy the economy, it will be a losing battle.
Barry knows that sunlight is the best disinfectant. This can of condensed crap he's hawking as health care “reform” reeks to high heaven and the longer it is exposed the more that is known. I refuse to believe that the average person is that ignorant not to realize this after he said the exact same things before the “stimulus” (which looks like it needs some viagra at this point), and crap and tax. This notion that we are in crisis mode and every thing has to be done immediately is nothing more than a smoke screen to ram every progressive wet dream through a compliant Congress.
