For all the attention generated by last year's presidential race, census figures show the share of eligible voters who actually went to the polls in November declined from 2004.
According to the data, more older whites opted to stay home compared with 2004, citing little interest in supporting either Barack Obama or John McCain.

No kidding. Let’s nominate Mitt now. That will bring them back in droves. (sarc)

But the data also showed that dead people, cartoon characters, and citizens of foreign nations voted for Obama in record numbers.

Maybe they were intimidated.
There were lots of reports of blacks driving around and making a big show of writing down addresses of people with McCain signs in their yards.

Thanks you old coots! I voted for the RINO McCain. But I would not do so again. The GOP has to understand that the conservative base, and the old coots who make up a part of that base, are not willing to show up and vote for someone who is distasteful.
I'll vote for a Conservative next time, or I will stay home. And don't blame me if Obama gets a second term -- blame the Republican Establishment for pushing Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. There's your problem right there.

I admit I wasn't enthusiastic about voting for McCain, even though I did. His inept campaign didn't make GOTV any easier either, I'm sure.

Mitt! The man of passion!, He will fire up the base! With double the positions on each issue, Mitt will get double the votes!

Can you blame them, with the Black Panthers People’s Party providing “security” at the polling places.

Being from Cook County (Chicago) i can say from personal experience that any time you put up a Republican campaign sign in the front yard it was torn out usually within a day or two. I had some fun and smeared mine with Vaseline so they would at least think twice before pulling out the next one.
Obama cheats. That is why 2010 is so important. If we don't take back congress there will be no way to stop the rampant cheating by ACORN and the Black Panther Liberation Army or whatever the thugs are calling themselves these days.

Wonder how they are going to feel about that non-vote as Obama proceeds to gut medicare.
To: kddid
Bingo!
Here is the dirty little secret the RNC refuses to admit to.
Their attempts(McCain, Rudy, Mitt, Huckster) at putting a RINO on the ballot(McCain) succeeded and those who decided it was “a bridge too far” to vote for someone like McAmnesty stayed home.
And then there are the idiots on FreeRepublic who would rather blame those who were basically disenfranchised by the selection of McCain instead of the real problem: the RNC leadership and elites. Pull your head out of the sand.

I wish this guy would have stood in my way to vote.

Let’s put the blame where it belongs, Feminist women:
“Unmarried women supported Barack Obama by a 70-to-29 percent margin, and they voted for Democratic House candidates by a similar margin 64-to-29 percent.”

Interesting.
But, you know, I can’t imagine a McCain White House would be as bad or worse than The Obama White House.
McCain wouldn’t be Reagan, but he sure as Hell wouldn’t be a socialist as is Mr. Obama-Jama.

Blame the Liberal Media for depressing GOP voters from turning out.
