Washington Post Poll: Growing Numbers See Obama as Old Style, Tax and Spend Democrat
Lots of interesting data from the ABC News/Washington Post poll today. Read a summary of the top line findings here.
The four-month trend in the question below is probably producing a Rolaids moment for Obama. The overall results are troubling enough. But I suspect the numbers are even worse among swing voters. Unfortunately the poll doesn’t report results among independents. However, support for Obama dropped off almost immediately after inauguration day among Republicans. Democrats still strongly support the president. So lots of the movement in the chart below probably comes from independents growing disenchanted with Obama, a trend evident in a number of other polls like this and this.
These Americans are growing increasingly frustrated with the gap between the president’s moderate rhetoric and the liberal policies produced by Congress. Their concerns are manifested in results like this:
Which of these statements comes closer to your view: (Beneath it all, Obama is an old-style, tax-and-spend Democrat) OR (Obama is a new-style Democrat who will be careful with the public's money).

Washington Post doesn’t have a clue that the very liberal agenda is ZERO’s along with Pelosi and Reid. ZERO is by far the most left person to occupy the WH and his campaigning was all a lie! He was no moderate and never was but the new media bought into him hook, line, and sinker and covered up for ZERO to scam the American voters.
One little problem for the drive-by media, the American voters are catching on rapidly that ZERO is a fraud.
Old Style? Try Old Syle-Supersized in record time.
This is another poll of “adults” not voters. I figure the results are biased in favor of RATS by roughly five percentage points just based on the deliberate choice of a more left-leaning sample.
Ras’ numbers show likely voters trusting Republicans more than RATS on eight of 10 key issues. This is what happens when you use a legitimate sample.

Polls seem to be able to track all sorts of voting groups.
I would like them to add one more group: Voters who actually pay income tax.
