Broadcast journalist Walter Cronkite has died at age 92, The New York Times reports.
FoxNews with Julie Bandearass is making me sick. Back to HGTV!
I couldn't find confirmation of your declaration. Nevertheless, his position on One World government was appalling. From his Wikipedia bio:
____________
Cronkite contrasted his support for accountable global government with the opposition to it by politically active Christian fundamentalists in the United States:
"Even as with the American rejection of the League of Nations, our failure to live up to our obligations to the United Nations is led by a handful of willful senators who choose to pursue their narrow, selfish political objectives at the cost of our nations conscience. They pander to and are supported by the Christian Coalition and the rest of the religious right wing. Their leader, Pat Robertson, has written that we should have a world government but only when the messiah arrives. Any attempt to achieve world order before that time must be the work of the Devil! Well join me I'm glad to sit here at the right hand of Satan."
In 2003, Cronkite, who owned property on Martha's Vineyard, became involved in a long-running debate over his opposition to the construction of a wind farm in that area. In his column, he repeatedly condemned President George W. Bush and the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Cronkite appeared in the 2004 Robert Greenwald film Outfoxed, where he offered commentary on what he said were unethical and overtly political practices at the Fox News Channel. Cronkite remarked that when Fox News was founded by Rupert Murdoch, "it was intended to be a conservative organization beyond that; a far-right-wing organization". In January 2006, during a press conference to promote the PBS documentary about his career, Cronkite said that he felt the same way about America's presence in Iraq as he had about their presence in Vietnam in 1968 and that he felt America should recall its troops....

It is we who can rest in peace today; but only for a moment. The damage he did with his self-righteous, self-important talking-head vanity has yet to be fully unleashed. Blood is on his hands, both from the Vietnam conflict and from the emboldening of radical Islam towards us as a result. Our God is a merciful God. He has an infinitely bigger heart to understand whatever motivated Cronkite (whose original, Dutch-origin name was Krankheyt) than I do.
Krank-hate indeed.
When it was FIRST reported that he was gravely ill here at FR. A FReeper posted information where Cronkite had been interviewed and was ask the question about God and he proclaimed he was a atheist in his eastern elite arrogance.
OK, I'll take that as a probable yes.
When we look back over how we, as a nation, were led down the garden path throughout the past half-century of the rise of socialism, it's saddening to realize how early it started, and how many were fooled, for how long. Most Americans are still quite unaware. God, help us! Heal our land!
Unbelievable. And to think so many people allowed this creep a place in their homes. Insidious.
You’re welcome. I’m one of those evil vile baby killers you use to hear about. Such a winnable war. What a waste and a tragedy. Never thought my beloved country would cut and run. Had the troops been allowed to do what was necessary it would have been a much different outcome.
What a shame.
Well I guess he knows for sure now.
Thank you for your service! My brother was in the Navy 1965 - 1969. In my town, not one bad word was uttered about our Troops. I remember hearing about how badly some in the Armed Forces were treated when they returned home.. Disgraceful! I hope that wasn’t your experince. Again, Thank you for your Noble Service! :)
Now if the rest of the drive by media can follow him, we`ll be better off.
92 years old, no big deal, we all have to go some time, he outlived the national average for males by almost 20 years.
If any of you knew anything about history, you would know that privately Cronkite had been a strong supporter of American involvement in Vietnam. It was only after he went there to cover it that he changed his mind.
Why we lost Vietnam.
I don’t regret my service over there because I thought it a noble cause. I haven’t and will never forget those in this country that betrayed us.
ff
I have a hard time feeling sorry for him too. I can only wonder why is this news? The lucky bastard made it to 92!
Still is...but we have the same traitorous bastards trying to ruin the nation to this day.
Try as they might, to date, they have not been able to kill the engine of productivity and prosperity...but under Obama they are redoubling their efforts and amking the strongest run at destroying this nation since its founding.
Even with this influx, there is still plenty of elbow room.
Walter, I mourn your passing, but you could not have been more wrong on this account. Here we are in the year 2009, and the largest increase in population in the US is from illegal immigration, a cause which you and your liberal buddies champion. This fear of over-population was a seminal argument for the abortion advocates.
To my knowledge, Walter Cronkite supported the abortion slaughter. Walter, the blood-guilt of 42 million innocent babies is upon your legacy.
He fooled a lot of people into thinking he cared about America......
